How has Calde been doing as manager of the U18s?
Pretty much impossible for anyone on here to say. In the most important U-18 competition (the FA Youth Cup) we were thrashed 4-0 at home by Leeds in a hugely disappointing display last season, and this season we went out at the first hurdle (a 2-1 defeat at Newcastle), but it's only a handful of people at the club who could have an informed view of how good (or not) a coach he is and whether he has performed up to expectations so far.

Tempted by Crawley v BR 22nd March.

Calde must be the oldest-looking 42 year old in circulation. Possibly just a bad photo. #Love Calde

Looks like the delay in the announcement was to allow Calde to get a pre new job haircut.

Hoping he has a successful spell at Rovers.

Maybe he just felt "ok lets not do this birth of Christ/new manager metaphor christmas announcement" which seems like a sensible thing.

Love Calde.

I found this comment on the Bristol Rovers forum quite wholesome:

"Buzzing!!! How exciting! No idea whether it'll work, but ready to buckle in for the ride!!!"

Reminds me of when we were a club of a similar stature. The expectancy of our fanbase was so much lower. In a way, they were happier times.

Ah - so they have! Good for them - wonder what the hold up was.
Maybe he had something else in his calendar on 25th of December than "drive to Bristol and sign a contract".
