... with RDZ in charge and a £200m war chest at his disposal when we most needed it to properly compete in the Europa League knockout stages. Or even if he'd been told to just bite the bullet til the summer when his concerns would be addressed in full.

Oh well, mustn't grumble. Got some nice shiny new infrastructure coming down the line and a nice new Wally From St Pauli guy who just repeats the meaningless mantra Trust The Process while all the while floundering:shrug:

And...RELAX! :smokin:
Did RDZ not want older more experienced players? If so, our summer spending spree would not have addressed his concerns.

RDZ was fighting on behalf of us fans to push the club to be as ambitious as he and we wanted it to be. In the end tho, the club pushed back on that ambition ☹️
He really did not.
He had the same view on splashing unlimited amouts of cash as some fans, but that isn't the same thing.

Well they're at least a bit older. And a bit more North European. Most of last season's dazzling South American starlets are being sidelined this season for one reason or another...

Yup, far better to hire a Yes Man who will opt for the easy life and bank the inevitable pay-off
There's clearly a middle ground where the manager does voice their opinion in a professional manner, primarily in private, whilst still getting the best with what he has. That middle ground, if it does sour, would happen over a few seasons, not weeks.

I get it you hate RDZ in your head. Instead we dispensed with our finest ever manager while spunking the best part of £200m up the wall a mere six months later and putting stupid haircut Trust The Process kiddie in charge of things

People mentioning the last 6 months like it proves something... Look at the shite teams he was forced to put out during that period. We were starting Offiah and O'Mahony for Christ's sake. JPVH in midfield. He was massively let down by the club in 2 successive windows AND was deeply unlucky with injuries. The tantrums were exacerbated by the language barrier and people looking for offence. He wasn't perfect but Bloom and Barber should have accepted that mistakes were made on both sides and met him in the middle. Instead we have, at best, a work in progress manager whilst RDZ is doing a superb job with Marseille and is looking to push PSG all the way with a fraction of their budget but his own transfers.

What makes you think we’ve spunked £200m up the wall instead of invested £200m in young talent that will develop over the next few years and ultimately deliver a better squad than we’ve ever had before?

Well yes I've said so outright on several occasions.
Just like its clear that you love RDZ,
Good we have that established in case people were wondering.

All absolute waffle and half truths which is what detractors have to resort to in order to justify RDZ being forced out
The same RDZ who got completely found out in the PL in his last 6 months
Not true. He was mostly fielding teams that were simply not good enough to compete playing his style of football. Youth players we've now loaned out to the noddy leagues, players playing through injury or completely out of position. People also blamed him for causing those injuries. Well look at the bollocks that was given how this season has gone.
who had a pitiful track record when given control of transfers
He (allegedly) picked two players, one on a free and one on loan. Fati looked decent before being f***ed by an injury which he still hasn't recovered from. Dahoud was an extremely low risk signing and had good pedigree. It's not some huge black mark against RDZ or his eye for players like people try and make out.
,and who fell out with key squad members on a regular basis?
Again, it was just the two. Both are proven twats and have attitude problems in general. Everyone else would have died for him. Including Alexis, a genuine world class talent who loves RDZ and credits him as the best manager he's encountered.
Rose tinted nostalgia based on a peak that we had already long passed by the time RDZ left the clclub
Marseille at home was less than 6 months before he left. Things started to unravel after an appalling January window and the worst injury crisis in years.

Err, that was in one game only, and the line up for Bournemouth away was universally seen at the time as bizarre. It was probably a f*** you to the club considering we had Veltman and Welbeck on the bench, and Pedro starting as a 10 when he could have filled in at 9 instead. Starting youngsters out of spite.

I can think of some miserable threads to start on Christmas day, but sticking with The Albion, this has to take the biscuit.

If you feel you have been jilted it's best to not wallow.

Not sure I'd trust that process, not that Hurzeler has proven to be the great saviour yet either.

So by that logic you must have considered players like Caicedo, Bissouma, Mitoma...all as failures, and examples where we spunked money up the wall simply because they didn't reach the best until at least a season after we signed them and not in the 6 months that you've giving our summer signings as part of that big spend

Mitoma, for example, didn't play for us straight away, but was loaned out so must have been a complete waste of funds, in the same way some of our summer signings have been out on loan to develop, and you're viewing them as failures.

What happened to realistic expectation?
what's happened to patience and waiting for players to reach their peak for us?,
What's happened to allowing for players to have had injuries and will take time to reach their best form once again ?

Instead we have some who look at that headline figure and assume that somehow means we should be on an equal footing with someone like Chelsea - who spent 1.5bn+ (even though they took a season+ for their new signings to settle and deliver on the pitch) and anything else is, in their eyes, is viewed as a failure by us.

That makes a massive assumption that there were the players out there that would improve us, and were available to buy (their club wasn't refusing to sell to us mid season, and at a reasonable price) and that those players would have been willing to join us.

Don't you think that if those all existed in the mid season window, then it's highly likely we would have signed them in during RDZ's last season. The fact it didn't happen may be simply the opportunity wasn't there to sign them, and it didn't matter who the manger was at the time or how many tantrums they threw.
