Wont the South stand end up.like North stand now standing? Surely many fans from the corner dont currently stand so will they be happy? Surely it will be harder to contain a split away section and cause more aggro with home fans closer and towering over? The corner seats some cost more, its bizarre away fans get these over home fans. There is a high price for all this signage section off physical areas and so.on.all.for what better atmosphere not guaranteed..badly timed shouldve waited see how standing rails in North stand works out. We only have so many fans that willever sign personally i dont think it'll increase atmosphereo one example hear away fans sing and North stand respond.
I’m a swc season ticket holder ,and never read so much drivel

I wonder where all the Heineken Lounge 1901ers will be moved to? There must be a few hundred who will need to be squeezed into someone else’s lounge.
Assuming long term they will be offered first dibs on the new north shelf lounge. Short term if they have thought about the build sequentially maybe they will stay put whilst they build the north shelf and move when it’s built?

I’m not a season ticket holder so have the luxury of sitting wherever I want and the SWC is by far the my favourite place in the stadium. Atmosphere next to the away fans, it’s lively, great view of the pitch at a good elevation, quick and easy service at the refreshment kiosks. That little separate section up its own stairs (is it ‘I’ stand?) is brilliant. We have pizzas! Quick escape to the p and r queue.

You must be gutted.

That’s a very grown up way of looking at it, I’d have been really cross myself :lolol:

Yep, all of this..... But I'll do whatever is needed to keep the peace with the other 27,000 fans demanding the change (allegedly) 🫡

Bloom decided this after discussions over the years with our managers and some research. The 27k didn’t make it happen.

I was making reference to the firmly held belief of another poster that everyone outside of the swc wants this to happen.

Strange assertion, but not surprising.

Nothing I or anyone else can do about it and therefore no point wasting energy over it.

Good news for the away fans though, they’ll have much better seats.

I've sat in most parts of the ground and have had the pleasure of sitting in the South west corner a couple of times including the AEK Athens game. My favourite part of the ground due to the view and the concourses.

I think the back few rows of the South stand could become a great new spot though. I sat in the back South of stand when Huddersfield had a small allocation and it was a decent vantage point. Can't member which concourse we used though

Not wanting to jump too far ahead but if they’re successfully putting another tier on the North they can probably develop a larger one in the South?

These changes just announced take the capacity to 32,500, which is the maximum allowed currently.

In your opinion. In my opinion, the perspective from a corner is shitehouse.
Definetly down to personal preference but I love a corner seat. I imagine the visiting fans will prefer this vantage in terms of view

The main point I disagree with is the away fans making less noise. I think the sound will resonate across the South and West. I do think it will wake the whole stadium up though

Ah ok, what is that limits the permitted capacity currently? I’m guessing transport links, fire exits?
Any further expansions need to be submitted to councils as part of a planning application, and within that we need to prove that transports links, concourses, fire escapes, general crowd safety, road traffic etc can handle the extra people. 32500 is just what they currently have permission for.
