Well the episode is actually called Joy to the World... and it's tomorrow. Details here for Whovians.

However, an old friend of mine was looking around town for a vegan panettone today, and upon sharing it has morphed into discussion about a new Dr Who villain.

The Vegan Panettone definitely sounds like a character circa 1973/74. A seemingly benign monster that comes to the earth to warn of pending doom, only to be the attempted architect. It hoodwinks Sarah-Jane under its spell and charm, slowly taking over minds and bodies with a seemingly omnipotent presence.

This script definitely needs finishing. It must have been expelled. As there appears to be no vegan panettone in Brighton today.

I've given up on Doctor Who. I suppose the question i am asking is, is it worth picking up again?

Me and my eldest love a bit of Sci fi but ended up laughing at the obvious gammon baiting and lack of storyline in the Tennant special last year. We then watched Ncuti Gatwa's first one and turned it off when he said "Space babies" for the millionth time and decided the alien was nice after all and haven't watched since.

Is it worth watching or have we just been a bit unlucky?

The new Doctor has been a bit hit and miss for me, will give the Crimbo one a go though as its tradition. However, tradition usually means the crimbo episode is a bit twee, lightweight and meh.

I don't think it was quite so good this year. The Vegan Panettone would have been much better.

I thought that was excellent. Something in my eye and all that.

The bollock-kick reference to early Covid was well played.

I'm liking the new doc and the general mojo.

It wasn't particularly twee this year, especially if you've lost a parent around Christmas
I had some kind of transmitter problem while watching it which pixelated the visuals and silenced the dialogue off and on for 10 minutes or so. From what I saw it was better than I expected and I will rewatch later today on the iplayer.
