[Albion] Away fans to be moved at the Amex from 2027/28 (was 2025/26)

Good news, absolutely loads of investment in the Amex, away fans finally moved, fanzone and safe standing

Bad news, even more supporters trying to get home from midweek games, prawn sandwich brigade in the North, club museum shut for another year
Bad news for hundreds of loyal fans in the SW corner. Community of fans spread all over the stadium into the leftover unwanted shit seats people elsewhere have chosen to move seats to avoid. To appease people who don't like seeing away fans when they watch the Albion on TV ( or pirate feeds) as they don't bother coming themselves and give no thought to the "legacy fans" who are being moved.

No. To support the managers and players who over the years have consistently asked the management to move away fans from behind the goal.

And because almost every fan who attends has wondered why the away fans were ever put behind the goal in the first place.

I really feel for the supporters in the SW corner, but the way you paint this is very one eyed. I just don't get why so many people on NSC can't wait to oile on to the club and propogate the "it's all about the money" bullshit. If it was all about the money, TB would have bailed decadesd ago and we'd be in League Two.

Or they all go into the South stand?

When the stadium first opened my season ticket was initially in the east lower towards the south end. With the away fans in the south. The away fans then got moved to where my season ticket was. The club called me personally to give me lots of notice, helped me decide where i'd like to move, and gave me first choice of some amazing new seats. & also allowed me for my first season in the upgraded seat to purchase it for the same ST price as the one I had been in. Since then I have had a season ticket in the first few rows of the east upper, bang on the half way line. In my opinion its the perfect seat, such a good view. Basically, we should give the club a bit of credit in that anyone who is asked to move is well looked after.

The north shelf looks more like regular seating than hospitality.
Description from the website...

''Phase three will see an additional 1901 Club area added to the north stand, which will help boost capacity at the Amex to 32,500 and is due to open in time for the 2026/27 season. The new hospitality area will offer a more pub-like vibe for home fans only. Alongside the Dugout, those will be the only 1901 Club areas that will allow fans to wear replica shirts; and the new members area will be specifically aimed at those fans who want to be at the heart of the atmosphere and show their support for the team.''

So somewhere in between hospitality and regular seats?

Ask any Holte End Villa fans what their US ownership is doing.... sectioning off a chunk of the HE for a new corporate lounge and seating.... seems that nothing gets in the way of greed, not even more than a century of traditional support.
A good friend of mine has been telling me about this. They’re well pissed off.

The way you paint this is the one eyed version. Which managers have complained about away fans cheering behind a goal? The only fans I have heard complaining are the delicate fans who are upset at having away fans celebrate on camera on tv whilst discussing it online. Fans actually in the stadium have to put up with away fans outsinging home fans regardless of where they are located, at pretty much every stadium in the country for long sections of matches. And the noise and colour of two sets of fans in the stadium is part of the spectacle.

As for "money bullshit" read my post. I haven't mentioned it, I haven't criticised Bloom or Barber. Maybe you could quote those posters and comment there rather than my post, which as you subtly point out was focused on the impacts on those directly affected.

Those of us directly affected by this movement about which there was no consultation are perfectly entitled to point out the impacts on the long time season ticket holders in SW, including a substantial group of less mobile supporters, which some posters seem to be struggling to consider. Still, as long as you can see away fans on TV.......

Don’t think it will be that simple, there will be a lot more fans affected this time, I doubt we will all be personally contacted, happy to be proved wrong though.

Article on the club website says there will be help available...

''We are notifying fans now, well in advance of the changes, and have been in touch with all affected ticket holders to advise that supporter services will liaise with them to relocate their seats during the renewal phase for the 2027/28 season.''

I have some sympathy for those being moved, my father was turfed out of his seat (and away from me and his friends) when the club extended the director’s box area upon EPL promotion.

But all things considered it’s the right thing to do.

1) It’s clearly not primarily due to TV.
2) Fans will get first refusal on the new south stand seats, so it’s not all “unwanted shit seats”

Interesting…..I was in that same area…. So had to be moved …no phone call…learnt about it from another fan…. ….i did get the chance to choose a seat in ESU close to the halfway line and only about 8 rows from the front…an excellent view … I wasn’t told it would cost me more, only discovered this when notified of the increase in direct debit …so I’m going to beg to differ re how well looked after moves can be for some

There’ll be 3000 seats for you to chose from in the south stand.

I can entirely see why fans are upset about moving - I said that. I love my seat in WSL and would hate to be moved (apart from to get away from Waldorf and Statler next to me). But this thread got on my moobs. Apols if you thought it was personal.
