This Gashead is a fan already...

...and this one...

Whereas my Rovers-supporting mate who just alerted me said:

"If you know him tell him to reject. Club is a disaster. New owners are proper shit. We’ll f*** up his career."

Tom Gorringe who was a senior commercial figure here when Calde was playing was Rovers CEO until August this year and is still a trustee of their community trust. Wouldn’t be surprised if this happens and it’s possible Calde’s been on their succession plan for a while.

EDIT - though if what Bozza says above is true maybe not.

Good luck to him if he does go. Maybe it's the beginning of a journey that will one day bring him back as Brighton manager...

I still have the photo of me and him taken on the West Lower concourse during the Derby v Huddersfield game on promotion day against Wigan when he was guest of honour and had access all areas.

Nooooo; say it isn't true.

Of course he has to take it - what an opportunity. Good luck Calde. See you back at the Amex as manager one day, I hope.

Bristol Rovers are a basket case club.

They hired Joey Barton.
They can't find a site for a new stadium. The UWE one fell apart and the fruit market site has gone tits up.
They built a new stand before gaining planning permission, flattening a listed tree in the process.

They're an absolute mess. I don't mind Bristol Rovers personally, but I'm not sure this isn't career suicide for Calde. He'd be better off taking a job at a traditionally smaller club, imho.
