Would say that Baleba is better now, with considerably more potential to boot.
Baleba today has nothing on 2020-2022 Biss. If we can get him back and back to the same level, its a dream signing imho.

Possible? No idea, but doesn't feel like its entirely out of question at some point or another.

Looking at all the replays of the 9 goals, he didn't feature in any of them. He wasn't supporting the attack, nor the defence. He was yards off the pace the whole time.

People will now race to his support, but that is what I saw. I saw him jogging around the pitch with no urgency. Several of the Liverpool goals featured balls over his head, and he didn't chase back.

Fair to say he probably didn't have a great game since they let in 6 goals... but that doesn't mean much does it?

Baleba has been immense all season. You don't know what you're talking about. By far better than 2020-2022 Biss, as you put it.

Even through our recent poor patch of form he's been our best player, probably. But for most of the season he has been an absolute power house - dominating the midfield. Defensively, he has been impeccable. On the attack, he has demonstrated a masterclass of spraying the ball wide, taking on the opposition midfield, and is even a goalscoring threat.

Dare I say it, he's likely to become better than Caicedo will be, looking at his displays this season.

Recency bias.

Bunch of people never knew how good Biss was but he had a 18 month spell for us where he topped PL stats of tackles and interceptions and whatnot. Complete and utter monster.

Not even Caicedo or Alexis reached the heights of 2020/21 Biss, never mind Baleba (though the potential is there).

That's hilarious. Alexis in his final season was miles ahead of 20/21 Bissouma. Miles.

Baleba has had good games but yet to see him dominate a game for 90 mins ,

Sorry but that is absolute nonsense.

No Nope. Not because he left I but just don’t think he’s better than our current players.
Baleba is just better with a higher bar.

His goal scoring ability alone blows Bissouma to oblivion. But he also destroys Bissouma on long range passing (which Caicedo also did). However, I will concede that Biss’s EPL experience does put him in another bracket.

IMO Biss won't get back to his best (that he had with us). Three years gone, hasn't developed, high wages....nah thanks, don't go backwards.
I think he would. Insecure guy. Doesn't really like it in the big clubs. Better suited for an underdog.

The game has moved on since he left us. So have we. But he hasn't. Watch the replays of all the goals - Spurs and Liverpool. He wasn't at the races. The game was being played around him.

Bottom line, he couldn't compete with Liverpool.

But this individual game doesn't matter in the big scheme of things.

"Loooook at these things he did tonight, he could never play for Brighton!"... ok, fine, but you could say that about any of our players who lost 5-1 to Everton two years ago or dropped points against f***ing Southampton weeks ago.

Today Biss was shit, three days ago he was the least useless player on the pitch when they won against United.

I don't make judgements on individual situations, inidivudal games or the direction of the wind a particular day. Its infantile. Yeah ok he got shat on by Liverpool. It'll happen to more people.

Spurs lost today, because the whole defend the half way line thing. It was exactly the same reason we got pasted at Chelsea. It's highly dangerous against such quality and mobile opponents.

Bissouma. He was terrific for us in a much weaker side for most of the time.

Is he better than Baleba now? You know i'm not sure. Maybe. He's more consistent, better on the cover, probably offers less going forward

Would I swap them? Not in a million years

But you quote data from the 2020/21 season. That's like driving while looking through the rear-view mirror. Factual, but out of date, and probably expensive.
