Okay we haven't won in 5. Not like this hasn't happened before....

Last season we went 6 without a win twice.

22/23 Season it happened once

21/22 we went 13 without a win and then 5 defeats in a row before a draw.

20/21 we went 6, 9 and 5 without a win

19/20 we went 6 games and 9 games winless

18/19 we went 5, 7 and 9 winless

17/18 we went 7, 6 and 6 winless

This is why I'm not blaming Fab. Okay we've struggled against a load of dross but it's not like we haven't had the chances to put away these games (something we've also said before, and for a few years now). And the early season performances, and the away games at the likes of Newcastle and Bournemouth show there's something to work with.

It's just what this team do. Im not 100 sure our defence has ever been that good at defending, or mentally strong since Duffy left.

I'm not overly concerned, yes it's annoying of course. We spent a lot of money on building up the squad because we had to, on players (and a manager) new to the league and English football, and of course it's going to take a bit of time. And as mentioned above, some of that money really should have gone on a defence.

What I will say as a positive (sort of) is look at how inconsistent and infuriating Chelsea were last season, up until when they started getting their shit together the last quarter of the season, and how they've kicked on this season. I'm really not praising them, just using them as an example of how long it can take for a team to gel with new players all over the place.

I love FH, but when I hear him talking about “the process” I feel like Tony Harrison listening to Saboo talk about “the crunch.”

I would like to know what the process is , because from what I am watching we have not improved at all since the beginning of the season ,
I agree. There literally hasn't been any improvement since opening day in fact, I would say we look worse. Yes, we have injuries to some but we have plenty of available options with the new players coming in.

Yeah, let's take pop shots at the PL-inexperienced coach and the dwell on the individual words and phrases he uses in a language that doesn't come naturally to him (I'm not accepting the 'Yeah, but he's American' shite).

Our fans sometimes, man!
Nailed …it’s petty…I think some seem to live in a cocoon and have never heard that most managers have there set phrases…most of the time to deal with daft questions

One thing I would change about the process is stop JPVH wandering into midfield he’s got no recovery pace. He cost the goal and got away with it on two other occasions.

The process is footballs version of Moneyball...
yes, spot on - if I may add: marginal gains, constant improvement, the "inches" from Any Given Sunday. We aren't a big club, but luckily Tony is a fan and makes good decisions.
What I see is: this year he has seen there is a shot at getting in the CL, because there are five spots, hence the surprise big spend. And, we all would love to see BHA there, even once.
But at the same time, the underlying "process" is a 2/3 year strategy of 1) getting into Europe and 2) doing better in Europe than we did last time. Hence the big squad (when we include loanees).
We learned the rigours of "3 games a week" and the club needs to build/work together towards that.
BTW UTA!

Not to mention English isn't his first language.
