Wow nothing like giving a player time is there.

Can think of a side full of players who have taken months or even longer to show their ability.

Not given him long have you.
How long does he need to even attempt to show he has more ability than to pass immediately backwards or give the ball away, just asking for someone who has seen him in every game he's played.

Jeez. Our fans are ridiculously impatient nowadays. Luckily for us Tony has a lot more patience and sees the long game.
I saw a very long game yesterday of crap.

Longer than one start

But then I’m sure you have clearly written off several other players who looked rubbish when we signed them.
You can all come back at me with blah blah rubbish, not one has posted what he can do yet, please enlighten me.

Thought he was just average yesterday like a lot of others.

In fact if you thought he was crap, what on earth was Joao Pedro and Georginho?

I like him a lot, good balance, tracks players, and can take players on in both inside and outside. Good at crossing.

Very promising to me, hoping he plays more. 👍

Seemed like yesterday he was playing a bit too safe, as in he didn't try and take on his defender or look to create by risk. He was often up against AWB who is an excellent 1v1 defender though, so it's not surprising.

He hasn't set the world alight, but also hasn't looked miles out of his depth, so he definitely deserves/needs time and patience, as do apparently all of our recent signings.

Have to remember that moving to the premier league is often a big change, and the majority of players take time to adjust. For every Haaland there is a Mo Salah.

Don’t worry I will.

No one knows yet how he will fair in the PL, but I for one trust the club about his abilities than someone on the internet looking for bites.

I’m certainly willing to give him more time than one start in a team that currently is struggling for form and is dysfunctional in certain areas.

However clear some people are happy to jump on someone’s back after only a few minutes on the pitch.

I thought he played well yesterday. I’m a fan, and hoping to see a lot more of him in the stripes over the second half of the season. He’s a youngster from a different league, they don’t arrive PL ready.

I don’t understand why you’d want to piss all over a young player on their first start. He combined well with our other attacking players. Was he peak era Ronaldo? No, but he gave a solid attacking performance in a team he’s new to, and showed flashes of individual quality. I think we’ve got yet another player there, with potential to develop brilliantly and perhaps even take a decent free kick or two.

Really not getting the OPs point of view at all. Baffling.

Totally agree about the others as well recently.
Enciso the only one who has changed the flow of the game, rumoured to be off. WTF is happening

He will have been “safe” yesterday as he has been involved in a couple of cameo appearances recently and has given the ball away (Fulham away I think was an example) that led to goals or dangerous situations. But he has shown flashes of pace, good feet and a good left foot.. fleeting moments, but I have seen them. Will be as good for us as Trossard is my prediction..
