114-114 for me but over 12 rounds I think Usyk deserved to retain the title.

Really good fight between two superb technicians.

Fury had to press home his early advantage in rounds 7 & 8. Fair play to Usyk who once again figured out the right tactics and made it his fight in the second half.

8 rounds to 4 feels very harsh though.

Fury doesn't do himself any favours with his lack of class; stropping and not doing an interview was very on brand. It's no wonder so many of us wanted Usyk to win, Fury is a monumental tosser. Usyk classy as always, even with the interviewer and Dubois being out of order. Great ambassador for the sport and for his country.

Shame this will end up being more controversial than it had to be because of the wide scorecards. I do think it was closer than the judges had it but I wouldnt have been massively surprised by a split decision for Fury, a draw or another split for Usyk after that. I'd say the scorecards from the first fight better reflected this one and vice versa.

I don't think Fury has got any more than that in his locker, not much point in a third fight IMO. I'd rather see Usyk v Dubois/Parker next and Fury can finally do the big Wembley spactacle with AJ.

Scorecards were odd. I had it as a draw, if I had to make a call then I'd have gone for Usyk but I might be biased as I'm not a fury fan. Commentators were awful. Both massively pro Fury. Richie Woodhall was a joke.

I said to the lad tonight boxing is getting more like WWE. Big build ups fake drama at the weigh in all for a dull fight at the end.
Hasn't it been like that for years? All this 'We hate each other' guff before the fight and then having a big old cuddle at the end?

Tedious - and all to watch two people trying to seriously injure each other. Entertainment, eh?

Well for a start I completely disagree with what you said. I didn't think it was tedious at all. I thought it was a compelling tactical fight.

Did you watch it?
Me too. Very close in my opinion but a draw or a narrow Usyk win for me. I’m surprised all three judges had it by 4 rounds. Were they copying each other? 😂

I'm talking about boxing in general as a spectacle and I was (originally) replying to the comment about it becoming more like WWE.

No, I didn't watch it.

I had Usyk comfortably ahead by 3 against that lumbering tub of lard. A lot of close rounds, but several where Usyk outboxed him and landed the more clinical blows. Usyk was well ahead going into those last couple of rounds and just needed to avoid disaster to bring it home.

Fury rocking up at 20st+ and looking every flabby inch of it was a sad sight. He's yesterdays news now.

Brighton factually.....
It’s box office for a reason.

years ago we loved big daddy & giant haystacks rough & tumble and as we got older realised it was all just a show…..

nothing changes just the actors

Funny enough I was wondering if the people on this board who had fury winning the fight were watching TNT! They are usually incredibly biased and it must subconsciously affect you, and particularly I would imagine if you are a Fury fan.

Anyone who genuinely thinks Fury won should take look at the compubox stats. Usyk landed significantly more punches and jabs throughout the fight. Fury was throwing a lot but a lot of it was just landing on Usyk gloves.
They also trialed a AI judge and that had Usyk winning by a similar margin.
Then add to all of that the fact that the challenger normally has to do a bit more to prize the belts off the champion and you can't really make a case for Fury winning the fight.

Usyk is something else.

He starts fights quickly, putting scorecard pressure on his opponent.

He ups the ante at very end of every round Leaving a favourable impression on the scorers. He pinches so many close rounds when his opponent eases off.

He doesn’t take chances but is just aggressive enough that his opponent is wary about letting his hands go. This did for Fury last night.

Usyk has limited reach but springs forward as he jabs meaning he successfully fought fury at distance last night.

And his footwork. It’s worth watching one of his rounds back and just watching his movement. It is like ballet.

Again last night he made a motivated, high class opponent look impotent, ponderous and cautious.

Give me dramatic, knock down boxing any day over points hoarding, but there is no doubt usyk is a genius.

How do you beat him ? (Bar waiting til he’s old)

I think Fury is a helmet but I was watching TNT and I’d had a couple of Jet Blacks.

Thanks for posting the stats, interesting stuff.
