On how many digits must rings be worn before one is considered a bit of a chav?

How many fingers of jewellery would be enough for you to apply a mental 'chav' tag?

Wedding ring and engagement ring are traditionally worn on the same finger so only count '1'. I have no issue with an eternity ring, or similar, on the other hand (count now = 2). It's the progress from there I have issues with.

I would say 4, but it really depends on the person and the type of jewellery or clothing worn, a wedding/engagement/eternity ring combo would seem acceptable.

However, if you are talking a row of signet/gold coin rings, large gold hoop ear-rings and perhaps a gold neck-chain or two...accompanied by the sort of sports clothing that costs about £3.50 from JJB and doesn't look like it has ever been used in anger then you are either a chav or a living and walking tribute to Vicky Pollard.

I wear a gold wedding band on the ring finger of my left hand and my grandfather's wedding ring (which looks like a signet ring, and was left me in his will) on the little finger of my right hand.

Does that make me chavy?

Anything more than one on a geezer is unnaceptable and even one is only alright if he's married.

The laydees as Frutos says can wear a few if they're nice. Personally I think of all gold jewellery as chavvy, even if its expensive stuff. Gold just looks shit and ostentatious.

I was really pleased when I lost my original gold wedding ring, as it gave me the chance to replace it wth a white gold one that looks about 1000 times better, and goes with all my watches.
I’m 100% with you. Except I’d go for silver over any gold every day and twice on a Sunday. One ring for man in total too. I currently wear none, even though I am married.

Edit, I have just noticed how old this thread is, has @Bozza changed his mind nearly 20 years later?

I was always in the one for a man category until I started wearing a smart ring. So useful for keeping track of your health especially if like me you dont fancy wearing a watch in bed. These obviously weren’t around when this thread started.

Working as I do, for the largest watch company in the world, I own about 40. You will never see me wearing more than one at a time though. Some of my colleagues have been known to wear two, but they are PLUMS.
Do you have them all hanging inside your jacket instead?

Blimey - the skeletons that are buried deep down on this forum, just waiting for someone to dig them up.

I'd like to blame my phone being hacked, but in 2007 I was probably rocking a Blackberry.

I wear a wedding ring. I do have an engagement and eternality ring, but don't wear them as they could get damaged and are a bit uncomfortable when wearing motorbike gloves. which obviously is not all the time, but I would forget to take them off before I was already kitted up and sitting on the bike, so it would be a pain.

My wedding ring is a simple gold band.
