[Albion] Why haven't we had any penalties yet?

We stay on our feet when there is contact and could have gone to ground like a lot of other team's players would have done in that situation.

Mitoma for example, in the box on Sunday, with his back to goal near the edge of the penalty area at the south end of the ground had several attempts by the palace player to barge him in the back for which he could easily have gone down under such a challenge and drawn a penalty, but instead he stayed on his feet. (something a lot of our fan base would rather see than buying cheap free kicks and penalties)
We don’t have any issues rolling around on the floor outside the penalty box though

Thunder Bolt

Silly old bat
His arm was moving up towards the ball as I remember it…. Everyone is forever trying to defend with their hands behind their back for that very reason

But show me a clip I’m open to rethinking it👍
Replay on tv showed it hit his sleeve, which is allowed.

We always get an early chance and seldom take it. Big problem. And with a low block, run at the defence, commit players and maybe get a pen… maybe get a deflection… maybe get thru to the keeper… maybe score a f***ing goal.

Be more Bournemouth, they shoot like mad and generally drive into the box. Not sure how many penalties though.

Have you considered masterly inactivity?

We’re just really bad at diving, and I think refs assume we’re always trying it on.

I’ve also noted that Baleba can get pretty much assaulted without a free kick or pen being given to him, while it seems all he has to do is be within a yard of an opponent for them to get a free kick or pen.

There’s something about his physique that makes refs assume he’s the aggressor in any 50/50, yet while he’s physical, he really just uses his strength well.

Yeah. Mateta went through him 3 times on Sunday without so much as a frown from the ref.
