That wasn’t the system though was it?

I actually have no idea what the new system is. TAA for England played a similar role where he moved into midfield while England were attacking, maybe that's what Hinshelwood is supposed to do?

Isn't that easy to defend though, if all our attacks are down the left? It also makes Minteh less effective as we saw yesterday.

I love Adingra's style of play - he's got a touch of the Knockaerts about him, very unpredictable and produces something out of nothing. My only criticism of him is that sometimes he tries to go for flair over practicality, but he's young and he'll learn in time.
Yes, I think a lot of our forwards are out there looking to impress, rather than lay the ball off for a better opportunity. We have a lot of quality players competing for similar positions and they are all trying too hard at times.

I don’t think it has I think the problem is he never gets to play his preferred position. When he does he’s one of the best players on the pitch. When he’s on the right he looks lost.
When Mitoma got injured he played on the left and was disappointing in the latter part of last season.

In his defence I would say he was probably exhausted from playing too much football, but he certainly wasn’t ‘one of the best players on the pitch’ - IMO.

Maybe but I think back to the away game at Anfield at the end of last season and he was outstanding. Likewise the game against Villa at home. Also this season against Wolves in the league cup. When he plays left he’s clearly got real ability.

Certainly played well at Liverpool, not sure I’d agree with the others, though he wasn’t poor.

Think he is a great backup for Mitoma. Real luxury having him in the squad, would be starting in a lot of PL teams.
This is just a personal opinion, but I feel the same about Adingra on the right, as I do when March used to play on the left. They’re both serviceable on those sides, but neither have any sort of X factor in those positions.

In contrast, I feel about Adingra on the left, as I do about March on the right - there’s real game changing ability there.

The problem, of course, is that Adingra is behind Mitoma in the same way March spent a lot of time behind Knocky. And I don’t see that changing unless Mitoma’s moved on.

Really harsh on Solly, but agree re Adingra.

I love Solly as a footballer, and was on here asking for him to be played off the right from early on in his appearances with us as I think he offers great balance and a really positive threat from out there.

I just think he’s very one dimensional on the left when we attack.
That’s fair enough, but whilst I think that was the case in the championship particularly, at the time of injury Solly had started to go both ways, plus arguably offered more defensively than any of our current wingers.

At the time of the last injury you mean? He was off the right then.

I guess I’m talking about his time at LWB or LW when under Potter, in particular. He was good defensively then, but going forward down that left hand side, I felt he was one dimensional, often struggling to beat a man on the outside and rarely coming inside to offer a goal threat.

Again, I’m only speaking about how he plays off the left. And I reiterate, I think he’s been a fantastic player for us.
