If you’re down for more than 10secs, you’re off for at least a minute. Retro cards too, post match, for feigning injury or fouls. Guilty of more than twice a season and your entire family gets shot. That ought to sort things.

Given Beleba has been blocked by refs in a couple of recent games, it won't be long before refs are joining in and going down too easily.
To be fair, if Carlos ran into me, i'd be pretty proud of myself if I stayed on my feet

I hate it, it just makes the game shit to watch. I get why players do it but getting a reputation for diving is going to work against you in the end, as said, the refs will just stop giving you anything and you won’t get even genuine fouls

So players will just hurt opposition players, get yellows, the opposition are now down to 7 men for a minute

I think there should be a new law that if an injured player has to leave the field of play after treatment caused by a foul the offending player should also have to leave for the same time.

“We’re no worse than anyone else” is never a convincing argument IMO. Heres’s a radical thought — why don’t we try actually being better than the others?

If a player continued to battle for the ball instead of opting for the dive-and-hope strategy, we might actually create more chances and score more goals.
I don't like it but ALL teams will do it until PGMOL takes decisive action to remove it from the game. Some years ago there was, supposedly, a crackdown on "simulation", which was going to be yellow carded every time. The result of that is that maybe one in ten dives gets punished with a card with only the most extreme and hilarious examples getting punished e.g. Maddison at the AMEX a few seasons ago.
It would be a sensible use of VAR but it won't happen.

I honestly think we need to have a different attitude tbh. We need to stop expecting Refs to solve all the problems in the game.

The players are the ones diving, THEY (and their teams) are the ones that need to stop it. The problem is that players are going over easily and everyone gets outraged they didn’t get a corner/freekick/pen etc.

The only people who can really stop are the ones who are doing it.

It comes across that on some level we've worked out that being the nicest, most callow team in the division is going to cost us, but we've no real idea what to do about it.
Aye. You can tag that to my 'the club is naïve' thought. We seem to believe that teams will let us play our way, and when they don't, we haven't got a clue and end up losing at home to pissant no mark clubs like Crystal Palace. They know what we are going to do, so why can't we know what they are gong to do?

Unless its our 'keeper doing the foul.

That's not how football or society works though. Serial killers, as with most habitual offenders, generally carry on killing/offending until they are locked up. Football cheats will usually carry on cheating until the punishment makes it not worth their while.

Serial killers and even criminals normally have some serious issues that prevent them being reasoned with. Football players are more than capable of understanding and solving this issue if they have the will to do it.

Veltman’s the only player with it sussed. Instinctively knowing when there’s enough contact for a foul.

Pedro and Baleba should just play football.
Nah. Veltman goes down so easily. Most of the time it's because he's clocked that an oppo player is going to be daft and prompt him to fall over. But plenty of refs have sussed just how easily he goes down. You know he does it. I know he does it. It's no surprise that many refs also know he does it. What is a surprise is that most oppo players/managers aren't wise to it.

I've noticed this season when Veltman has been playing it simply hasn't worked with quite a few refs - they're wise to it now.
