I think as said in a previous post-which i cant find atm, if the club dont take at least some action, then they could lose the right to object if anyone else uses the logo-while a small club a thousand miles away probably isnt an issue, it is probably being viewed as the thin end of the wedge.

I suppose it depends on how or when they approached us and how we responded but I'd hate to think that we have turned away tens of thousands, err... hundreds, err... several potential supporters by our actions.

Just read this thread from start to finish, and there were so many funnies I went back and read it all again. Some of the funniest replies I can remember from an NSC thread. Bravo everybody  just brilliant

I don't know how the law is globally, but I know in the US, if you don't defend a trademark, then it'll be considered abandoned and then anybody can use it. So if you don't send a cease-and-desist for this one, then we can't do anything when another club rips off the badge. Or even some completely unrelated company rips it off. Like if Hollister reverse their logo and put in it a circle.

Of course, that doesn't mean we need to crush them. We just ask them to change it. I doubt we'll be demanding massive damages that they clearly wouldn't be able to pay anyway.
