[Albion] Squad Harmony?

I don't know about squad harmony, though something I've noticed is that in the summer when the club showed a snippet of Hurzeler's team session he was telling the players how they need to be applauding every good move, recognise the effort of each other and generally telling each other they're great all the time. First couple of games they noticeably did this, with constant encouragement to each other, and that's much less visible now.

That would be a bit weird and Trueman show for me.

'Hey nice control and cross Yankuba, excellent jump for the header Tariq.... wow brilliant recovery run there Lewis....whaoah Carlos and Yasin, you are really dominating midfield with that close knit partnership, brilliant awareness there Julio....sorry, boss, I just can't do it.'

Rubbish. A fan also told me yesterday that the club are soon planning to add 5000 more seats to the north stand, so dont believe everything people say....

Some truth to this, the body language isn't great right now (not awful, but not great).

Its a bit like last season when our players stopped controlling the ball with the sole, which they almost did pathologically in the early RDZ days.

Expressing ideas and intent is easy, not allowing it to wither away is the real challenge.

Its a lost case anyway and Hurz shouldn't push it further, because thats digging his own grave.

Managers who collect cards from the sideline can not ask players to behave in a controlled fashion. Its a choice to make, either take the rowdy way or the controlled way. You can't get several warnings for being overly emotional and expressive and then expect the players to be cold and calm.

People say these things like it’s the end of the world. Even if it was true, the harmony of a team probably changes loads through a season, being on a poor run of form, folk not feeling they are playing well etc.

Yeah, so what if it’s a bit poor at the moment? that’s the nature of groups, it’s not some irretrievable mess that can’t be resolved.

"Dave the caller" :ROFLMAO:
I was driving home and heard that, Radio Sussex dealt with it quite well.

If "Dave" has indeed spoken to 2 players (no chance) then shock horror if those players are Ensico & Moder then yeah, they might be annoyed.
How can you say "no chance" he hasn`t spoken to 2 players , i have spoken to a large number of players over the years , they have never told me anything contentious , apart from one who had a pop at another manager which was bloody hilarious . But "Dave" might have got a sense of something wrong , we cannot be sure , and we don`t know who he spoke to .

Resolving it also extends beyond the players - I remember the psychologist for the England team saying that one of the best things Southgate did before the World Cup in Russia was set an attitude and language and 'style' for every aspect of the England set-up so it was congruent and consistent from everyone, from the people who served food in the canteen and swept up the changing rooms to the people right at the top. The end result was a team that was never in a space where things were anything other than harmonious, positive, supportive, and focused on a single outcome. There's no club in the country I'd be more confident could do this than ours, and as fans in the ground we play a part in that too...

No idea if Dave is right but our squad has too many players contending for the same positions so tough to not end up with some unhappy people. Gomez only going to add to it. Annoyingly in other positions we don’t have enough bodies. The recruitment strategy is starting to look slightly baffling.

Given our recent run of form and the manner of how we’ve thrown points away, frankly I’d be pissed off if there was squad harmony.

They all need to be looking at each other and demanding more of themselves and their squad mates.

If that upsets a few people, so be it. This is elite-level sport.

Dave the Caller, is that the same person as Down the Pub Dave, also known as Ditchling Dave, walks a dashund and drives a Darcia Duster listens to Dusty Springfield?

Pedro is a great player but I dont like the way he acts if he doesn't get the ball he wants.. saw him acting pissed off with Fergusson after Evan tried to thread a pass through to him and failed. That's not gonna help is it.

Pedro did look petulant yesterday and I get the feel that he thinks he’s at a higher level than some of his colleagues. Maybe time to give him a reminder that he’s not guaranteed a place. Rutter and Welbeck seemed to have forged a very good understanding.
For the West Ham game I’d say that Enciso has probably put himself in the frame for a start too with his 2nd half performance on Sunday.
