[Albion] Is there a worse result than being stuffed by Palace at home?

Is there a worse result you can envisage this season than being outclassed at home by Palace?

Getting bored with these schoolgirl 'woe is poor, sad me' threads.

Here is a useful web site. There are links to support groups for all kinds of needs.
Football catastrophizing is certainly covered.

The answer to the OP question can be readily found. There are multiple examples.
There are many to pick from here:

Being 2-0 up vs Wolves with 5 mins remaining on the verge of going second, screwing it up and then repeating it at Leicester.

So, although a slant on the question, “yes”.

I had us down for a defeat after I watched Palace at Ipswich, well organised out of possession, the very thing we struggle against, good physicality also…..
They only had to get one for us to struggle, the fact we gave them two, meant it was really uphill.

Yes. Albion were well beaten. A worse result is one where you hold a comfortable lead and throw it away at the end.

Thankfully, Albion...

Oh...

No, this was a dreadful experience and unfortunately made worse because my ex-husband is a Palace fan. I was living off the way we beat them 4-1 until now.

Felt worse last week. 86 minutes of total control and three nice points... and then just throwing it.

Yesterday I felt from minute one that CP were more determined and secure in what they were doing. I was mentally prepared for it to go tits up and that softens the blow.

I feel inclined to ask whether posting two embarrassing threads about much the same thing is the worst thing I have seen on NSC (that is Albion related) or not.

And now, with this thread we have three embarrassing threads.

The two Palarse fans who read NSC (Sid and Doris Bonkers is, as far as I recall their names) will be tittering. ???

No with one caveat.

We now find ourselves having to prevent them doing the double over us. So a defeat at their place in the return fixture would feel even worse.
Yep.

I vote (this is an election, right?) that we spend the next few weeks in a state of panic about the possibility of shipping two defeats to Palarse in the same season for the first time in nearly 800 years.
It really will really be a real catastrophy.

Hang on.....

Maybe I'm over reacting here but I simply don't care.

I moved on from measuring Brighton's historical success and future promise based on head to heads with Palace some years ago. Possibly around (looks up historical results), er, always.

I remember the Hartlepools supporters at Fans United getting teary-eyed over their greatest moment, an away draw to someone like Ipswich in the second round of the League cup.

As for head to heads with (checks who it was we were playing yesterday) Palarse.... we're better than that.

(Just listening to Naga Munchetty on R5. She mentioned she is a Palace Fan. Now off to luzz the radio through the kitchen window. ???)

Being 3-0 down at half time to Junior Seagulls in the Mid Sussex Sunday U15 League in 2001 is up there

Balls to that I make no apology for thinking losing to Palace, especially at home is the most annoying result in a season to me. Yeah I was there when were shit against just about everyone and it pissed me off but not on the level of yesterday, the 0-5, the play off defeat and losing the first league game at the Amex with Glenn Murray scoring. That was worse than any of the list above TO ME. If that makes me a woe is me schoolgirl so be it.

Talking of being bored, I am bored with being pulled up for having a different opinion to you, but I try not to be plain rude and condescending to you

Much worse results recently, giving up two goal leads against Wolves and Leicester with only few mins remaining. Also failing to beat Southampton when 1-0 up and Forest 2-1 up are surely worse results.
Against Palace we were one,two and three nil down. Then we won the last five mins one nil...

Try harder.

My opinion about your opinions is as valid as your opinion about my opinions of your opinions.

That's how it works

This season so far the Wolves result was worse for me …. but as at all times like this it’s the Sudbury Town result I draw on for strength, that’s my personal all time low point

Palace are just an annoyance 😒

I should qualify that while I find losing at Palace at home about the most annoying result there is out there, it does not leave me incapacitated. I just need to take a deep breath, remind myself that about 95% of the planet has it far worse than me, that it's a game of football... and then I can move on.

A good wine also helps. That's wine. Not whine.
