I'm sure I've heard somewhere before that we are legally obliged to defend our image rights, even if we don't really care in this case, as, if we didn't, this could lead to our logo becoming free for anyone to use.

Any legal types know if that's true or completely made up?
that's about the shape of it, enforce or lose the protection on trademarks.

what's a shame in these situations is someone doesn't think to licence the design for some nominal amount.

They are on transfer market with limited (but interesting) squad details

Maybe loan Milner so he can feel young again?

Really hope the Albion don't come out of this looking like bullies.

There's a few hundred quid to spend here to generate a good news story ... after making sure that there isn't some horror story involving Yugoslavia

In other news Portsmouth are getting spanked.

Silly old bat
No idea, I'm not sure it's even true!

Sounds like we and West Brom have some sort of formal agreement to not go after other clubs called 'Albion', presume Seagulls is treated similarly, so possibly the trademark can be written in such a way as to limit where you need to take action

That article forgets Burton Albion.

On another note, we could come to an amicable agreement offering them the shield logo we used at Withdean, where the seagulls is reversed.

One of there pages refers to us a Brightonov.

Could this be a compromise for the petition thread ?
That's how we will be known after Putin has successfully invaded.

This is a small PR opportunity for us, that I can guarantee won't be missed.

Which is nice.

They had a seagull on their logo before two clubs amalgamated.

Since 2001, apparently!

The English club was founded in 1901, while the Podravina club emerged in 2001 from the merger of two local lower-league teams.

At the time of its founding, the club adopted Brighton’s crest, coinciding with Brighton’s promotion to the third tier of English football.

We didn`t have that badge until 2011/12 !

Hang on, so WE stole THEIR badge 😮

The plot is thickening here. No wonder they came over looking for a donation. I wonder what was in Barbers massive letter?

Apparently the amateur German team, SpG Rasen/ Antholz!

This begs the question" Why is the name of everything that is good and holy in the world would a club choose to copy this abomination from down the road??

It seems that Tony brought back and reinvigorated an old round design including changing the direction of the Seagull "to look forward for the future" coinciding with the opening of The Amex .
