I assume the answer will be âyesâ, given itâs a restaurant in Brighton, but Iâll ask anyway as they donât have a menu on their websiteâŚWent to Bincho Yakitori last night.
I know most on this thread like it there and it was absolutely cracking but three notable things to mention:
1) We took along another couple who were Bincho virgins and slightly sceptical. They absolutely loved it (favourite dishes, the cauliflower and the chicken skin were re-ordered).
2) We got the table fairly last minute as a result of a cancellation. So, much like our away tickets, always worth further checks if they're full when you initially look. And...
3) The service was absolutely superb. Our waitress was fantastic and got a large tip. Bincho has been good at this whenever we've gone but a lot of places post Covid have had high turnover and poor quality front of house. So this was noticeably better than a lot of other places I've eaten.
Oh, and with several beers, two glasses of red and three sakes between us the bill was still only ÂŁ50 a head before tip.
Very much yes x 2I assume the answer will be âyesâ, given itâs a restaurant in Brighton, but Iâll ask anyway as they donât have a menu on their websiteâŚ
Is there generally enough on the me I for veggies?
Seinfeld question, actually, is it the sort of joint where a well-behaved teenager wonât be out of place?
All of the waiting staff there are effectively well-behaved teenagers.I assume the answer will be âyesâ, given itâs a restaurant in Brighton, but Iâll ask anyway as they donât have a menu on their websiteâŚ

One of our four was a veggie last night. Loads of veggie options. She had sweet potato, two lots of their cauliflower (highly recommended), veggie ceaser salad, and aubergine. There was also a tofu version of the Japanese fried chicken on the specials board.I assume the answer will be âyesâ, given itâs a restaurant in Brighton, but Iâll ask anyway as they donât have a menu on their websiteâŚ

Itâs worth it for the chicken skin dish alone.Went to Bincho Yakitori last night.

Sorry @Machiavelli , I missed this. In any case, I normally go to a little family run Italian cafe in Putney for a plate of homemade pasta and a big glass of chianti . But it closes in the afternoon so wouldn't have been any good for the match last week. If I eat out before an evening game, it's normally Franco Manca in Putney High St.Any ideas about a venue pre-match at CC. I've been to a few pubs in the vicinity, and they're really expensive and am yet to find one with sufficient charm. So, are there any options within a 30 minute walking distance of CC? I'm thinking either of a pub that does really good distinctive food (rather than the menus that you can predict) or, alternatively, a relatively cheap (maybe Asian, etc, but don't want to restrict it to that) restaurant ideally with a few nice drinks.
After yesterdays visit..I assume the answer will be âyesâ, given itâs a restaurant in Brighton, but Iâll ask anyway as they donât have a menu on their websiteâŚ

Interesting read. I remember when Cornerstone opened and itâs glowing Guardian review.Wasn't sure where to put this, but finishing off 2024
Why a Michelin star can spell danger for restaurants
They found those that earned a Michelin star were more likely to close than those that didn't â even allowing for location, price and type of cuisine. Receiving Michelin star status "intensified bargaining problems with landlords, suppliers, and employees", according to researcher Daniel Sands â all of which push up costs, combined with "heightened consumer expectations" created new challenges, which made it more difficult for them to stay in business.

The survey is specifically about New York, but could well apply elsewhere
