Had no idea he was actually straight.
The irony was he was in line to host The Generation Game , he was told to keep his camp demeanour as it was in line with Larry Grayson and they loved it , he hosted one as a try out and did a great job - only to be told he was too gay !!!

There`s no winning with some people , as said above a lovely bloke .

R.I.P.

"Duncan appeared on the ITV comedy panel game show Through the Keyhole. He also appeared on Wogan, Surprise Surprise, The Bob Monkhouse Show, Bullseye, Blankety Blank and The Keith Harris Show."

This would explain why I have absolutely never heard of him.

Incidentally, what is equivalent term for a white man made up to play a black man that could be used here to describe his campery?

Humour has always been subjective, but he made it to the top and audiences loved him.

I had no idea Through The Keyhole was meant to be funny.

The sight of a straight man mincing and lisping 'chase me, oh I thought you were coming' is right up there with Jim Davidson playing 'Chalky White'. Sadly, as I'm in my late 60s, I have heard of Jim Davidson.
