We're not the perfect club after all

'As a result, Brighton will pay a £20,000 fine, and the league's legal costs, and have also been handed a six-month ban, which is suspended for one year, from registering any academy players currently or previously registered with another club'

"The League is grateful for the proactive and collaborative approach adopted by the club, which has resulted in significant mitigation being applied to the sanction," a Premier League statement released on their official website read.

"Upon becoming aware of the full circumstances, the club disclosed the breach to the League, conducted an internal investigation and acted in a transparent and cooperative manner at every point."

We're just like City, Leicester, Bournemouth, Newcastle, and all the others then...

Just goes to prove that if you mess up, the best course of action is instant transparency.

I read the club will investigate.
Just imagined a scene with PB wearing a dear stalker hat.

Got to click through a few times but seems we poached/tapped up a player at another club.

Well naughty us. I'm in shock

I hope Paul Barber has written an extremely comprehensive final warning letter to the persons responsible

Not great.

...getting caught, that is. Tapping up players is standard whatever the regulations says.

Bit sensitive at youth level but generally speaking clubs are reluctant to put a £50m bid or something on a player who they have never talked to.

Could be something in this.

I find it incredibly unlikely that we're reorganising the entire scouting because one or two blokes made an error. Most likely no connection whatsoever.

It`s a piss take really , if you look at half the headlines on Newsnow for instance ,they all read Liverpool chasing Pedro , WHU after Ferguson and several sides after Enciso . If that`s not a blatant form of "tapping up" i don`t know what is , no specific contact but the message reaches the player`s loud and clear .

Ah, yeah but…..

how else do you stop an up and coming club with an eye for spotting young talent that seems like it could challenge the establishment.

oh hang on, At source

meanwhile any movement on the Man City ”alleged“ charges….
