Disgraceful decision with Saudi's record on human rights and homophobic views. Just about sums up football today that it's just about money.

No no no, surely you must be wrong? Just read a lot of what Infantino said and it's all positive and very good for everybody and shows how people can work together.
Of course they did - they just wouldn't be able to demand the same money from the hosts. And it needn't cost a fortune to put on if it goes somewhere where the infrastructure is already sitting there.
Just wait for the usual moronic responses from apologists (not necessarily on here where I hope we're all more balanced): "Well when it comes to human rights Britain's just as bad, we can't go around pointing fingers"
It’s unbelievable that they got rid of Blatter because of all the corruption and shady deals that were going down and tarnishing Thiefa’s image, and then they get Infantino in who, if anything, seems to be worse!
The only positive thing is that, logistically*,Saudi is going to be a whole lot easier to get around than the next 2 multi country tournaments (*although that might not apply to those who have good reason to fear visiting a country with their human rights record being what it is).

I would like to see FIFA just once leading the way in ethical sponsorship and not again helping States with shocking human rights and environment records to sportswash their way into international football.
Japan totally could have hosted the 2034 WC. And think how that would have put Brighton back on the map with Mitoma being a UK ambassador for Premier League football

Fifa's priority isnt the best location or best tournmount... its only real parameter is who will fill the trough the most for us to get our greedy snouts in.
Its a financial decision as always.
No doubt the hundreds of future dead Nepali and Philipino construction workers for the 11 new stadiums will be delighted at this "footballing decision" aka stitch up

Ultimately Qatar was their soft launch for this and a world cup in Saudi Arabia was inevitable as soon as 2022 wasn't a complete disaster. For all the negative noise about it there were no major boycotts by teams, players or high profile media people and it'll be the same in 2034. They'll all follow the money just like all the players who have gone to their domestic league, boxing, WWE etc.

Too recent a host - I was there for the group games in 2002 for the tournament which they shared with South Korea.
It's true that Germany hosted in 1974 and 2006 with a similar 32 year timescale between them, but the tournaments are now shared between all continents rather than just alternating between Europe and South America.
Australia is the country that missed out here in 2022 with ready-made stadia and infrastructure, a sport-loving public and tournament history.
I'm guessing in most people's perception, Infantino is as corrupt as his predecessors.
Only really a financial liability for those without relevant infrastructure. Qatar is estimated to have spent $200b for their world cup with very little to show for it on a legacy basis. That's 15x more than Russia reportedly spent only 4 years earlier.
Brilliant the domestic leagues get split again, as looks like this WC will be held in January and February.
