I used the colourising tool on MyHeritage site. It's only going to be as good as the software but it seems to have made a half decent effort with the grass and skin tone.
Although presumably that does sort of hinge on the grass being green rather than a dried out yellowy colour, or a muddy brown?

Great picture. Out of interest do we know how many of these guys were fortunate enough to survive WW1?

Most of those pictured joined the Football Battalion of the Middlesex Regiment and trained at White City in London. Some would have seen front line action at the Battle of the Somme in 1916 and Arras in 1917. The only one that pictured that died during WWI as far as I can see was Charlie Dexter, he suffered from septic poisoning in 1916 and was medically discharged and died at home in 1917.

In that era would they have a mottled colour? I would have thought a block colour or sack the washing lady must have left some pants in with the wash. Reminds me of my 1970's tie dye T shirt efforts.

For anyone who is interested in finding out more about the Albion, its players (and staff and supporters) and the First World War, you should seek out the official club historian's book that was published a few years ago:-

Neither here nor there
I think Bart should be offered the option of a roll-neck jumper for winter games. Especially in fixtures like the one this coming Sunday where he'll have literally nothing to do.
