Not settled at all due to various injuries…..no surprise it’s not clicking
This. I feel for FH a little, as soon as he has a 'fixed' middle 2 or 3 then it's immediately disrupted by injury/illness/suspension. I don't think he's been able to name the same starting CMs in more than 2 or 3 games in a row. IMO it's Baleba & Hinch. Followed by Wieffer & Ayari. Man City goal aside I've not been that impressed with O'Riley, albeit it's early days.

This seems to be our issue at the moment. It's been a bit haphazard. So who would be our ideal combination?

Millner - where has this man gone?
Hinsh - for me the solution - we need him back asap.
Ayari - more of an attacker
Baleba - concentration lapses (fantastic player albeit)
Moder - not fancied
Wieff - not been around long enough to assert leadership
O Riley - he's a 10, no?

We have a lot of talent there, but the automations aren't there, and I think that's why we're failing to put games to bed/assert a rhythm on the game.
I agree.
Perhaps Fab feels uncomfortable with a character such as James about?
How much longer for Hinsh?
Good thread.👍

Milner: Missed 12 games through injury
Wieffer: Injured on arrival, missed Arsenal, Man U and Ipswich through injury
Hinshelwood: Started 1st 8 games, missed 1 through injury, returned for two, then injured for next 4
Ayari: In and out with illness, sub appearances and starts
Baleba: In and out with minor injuries, a suspension and bench warming.

We've not clicked because we never seem to have two people consistently available at the same time

yes this has been a real problem again this season. see also: right back. we have four players who have regularly played there, of course sod’s law would have it that three of them are injured right now. whether or not FH was justified in playing the crazy formation we saw at fulham with this in mind is one thing, but he definitely wouldn’t have if we’d had even one more player available to play right back. i’d say FH doesn’t know his best 11, but that’s hardly his fault when you look at who he’s had unavailable. whatever the new medical team were brought in to do hasn’t happened yet

FRUIT OF THE BLOOM
We have sold 4 regular starting midfield players in just two summers. Of course the midfield isn't clicking.
Wise words. And a load of new ones getting used to the Prem.
Even Hinsh has played only a couple of games centre mid for us.

All is well. At least we have plenty of options

Maybe too many in all positions !

Baleba, Ayari and Hinsh are a good core and don't think any of them leaves within 18 months so should be really nice next season.
The others.. dunno. Milner doesn't seem to be able to keep fit anymore, Moder is done here, O'Riley not too comfy in those roles. Time will tell on Wieffer. As it stands I wouldn't mind putting him with Moder and Milner in the mixer if we can get one good, functional, fit midfielder out of it.

Completely agree. You can't legislate for Veltman, Hinshelwood AND Ferdi all being out at the same time.

Moder.:LOL::LOL::LOL: - I reckon I'd be a better option in midfield than him.

On a more serious note IMO he is championship standard player. Has he offered anything in his Brighton career so far? I'm struggling to think If I've ever left a game and remember a positive impact he had on it. I've seen absolutely no indication he is remotely competent to shore up our midfield..

He seems to get a free pass because fans like his song...

The thing i was surprised to see recently was Moder making it into the top 10 Premier League in game top speeds recorded: https://www.premierleague.com/news/4138354
