There's no rule that says teams have to be symmetrical - providing everybody knows their role within the set-up. Might even be an advantage if it manages to create uncertainty in the opposition.

Going back a few years, I remember teams often playing with one winger, who would swap wings through the match, to try and find which was the most vulnerable for him to attack.
Thats true, but if you're playing a full back on one side and a wing back on the other, one of the three centre backs gets shunted so far over he's basically a full-back.. which is what may have happened. To be fair thats what we do anyway, with Veltman playing much deeper than Estupinan.

Ta. Well, you can interpret those who you want to. The way I'm doing it is that:
-- JPvH and Igor fairly similar although, JPvH slightly shifted to the right
-- Adingra wide and predominantly advanced (although more defensive work than many will credit)
-- Pervis wide like Adingra but a little deeper
-- Mitoma tucked in around the half-way line and far more prominently wide left tucked back
I still think that this was a three at the back. Note that Dunk said as much. Others are saying three at the back out of possession, four in. That's far too sophisticated for me. I'm not convinced that JPvH is a right back (and think he played as a RCB) but, despite that, he was pretty creative: he played a fair few through balls that led to goalscoring opportunities.

Definitely my take home too. Adingra's heat map is quite wing backy after all. JP is quite wide but not as wide as Pervis. Pervis and Mitoma just seem to be in the same place, maybe this is where it went wrong. MOR totally all over the pitch. Baleba was helping out a lot in the wide right areas.

and yeah, I don't think JPVH was that bad in his role, we largely controlled possession during his time on the pitch, with just that ridiculously-amusing first goal against us. (50-pass move followed by a tap-in for them, had to laugh)

Not said with any glee, as I had thought we’d somehow taken the points.

Crikey we’re a sh1tshow defensively. Individually - Lamptey, Dunk and JPVH are bloody awful just now, even before their first goal. Another PL basement team takes the piss, they were queuing up to tuck away those chances.

Collectively - LCFC had control of the ball and game, even at 0-2.

We’re a far cry from the team and play that were great first half at Anfield, second half Citeh.

Does FH have a plan B, what’s he going to do about this?

I don’t know about all that.
Prior to the goals I can think of one save the Bart made.
We were in control. You don’t have the ball to control a team. There wasn’t a point of have been that worried by them having the ball.
I don’t think we should have brought on Igor and that would be my criticism especially for Mitoma. We couldn’t play as a back 3 in the week and that’s not changed in 3 days. Has allowed there right back freedom to come forward and pressure us more.
Final 10 minutes decision making was not good some of that individual errors some of that down to tactical switch we didn’t need to make

I found it an uncomfortable watch at 0-1 and 0-2. Verbruggen kept hoofing it, Lamptey dived in to leave a winger free, they kept recycling the ball, we knocked ten years off of Vardy’s age to reignite a pacey nuisance forcing us into into rushed hoofs to them, they kept asking the questions.

We failed to control the midfield.

Similar in some ways to Stains second half, our midfield became invisible, lost every 50:50.

Most of his post is hogwash. Most of his posting history is hogwash. We get used to it.
Nah. You've got that one badly wrong, although you're right that the post itself is hogwash.
I've only watched the game in the stadium, so haven't seen any recording of the goals we conceded, but it looked like an error by MOR for the first and Igor for the second.
Beyond that, Bart made one very good save in the first half, which was their only other effort on target. They were really poor and that was in part due to us making them look that way. We had multiple opportunities to put the game to bed.

Yeah this.
Lamptey was superb for 70 minutes, but needed to come off.

I knew we needed a 2nd goal at 1-0 , I didn't realise it would be to keep a point though.
