Swooping in on our staff and ex-staff at Brighton by Clubs hoping to emulate our recruiting, coaching and business model clearly is working well for them 😂

Based on how we've developed since Ashworth left. And no, I don't have a clue what the job entails, and I have no solid evidence to back up my opinion. But we certainly haven't got worse since his departure have we? So I would argue that as is so often the case with senior appointments at the Albion these days Weir is an upgrade on his predecessor.
It could be argued that the management structure and, more importantly, processes that Ashworth put in place (if, of course, that's what he did) are a major factor in our ability to continue onwards and upwards despite frequently shedding staff.
I suspect Brailsford wants HIS structure and processes at Manure and Ashworth's role no longer exists.

The truth is that we target strong staff, who excel in our excellent structure.

I'm sure Ashworth played a big part in enhancing the structure, but he has been employed by Toon and United to do a much bigger role than he was responsible with us.

Its beginning to look like it was Brighton making him look good.
You need Bloom's algorithms to make the process work.

Something tells me that the rubric's big picture exists only in Tony's head.

Which was pretty obvious, frankly.

A man whose private betting company employs people who understand only their part in the machine, and are paid so it stays that way (articles passim).

Dan Ashworth is very good at his job and has been fired because Man Utd haven’t got a clue. To reset the culture there, and create a strategy and identity to enable future success is a multi year task that is going to need some short term pain and patience.

The fact they have bottled it within 5 months when DA has had 4 games to work with a new manager and no transfer windows shows Utd are still a total basket case. Bad for Dan but bloody hilarious for those of us that want to see Utd rot for evermore.
The fact they decided to keep Ten Hag after he fluked the FA Cup Final was an indication they were clueless.

Would you be happy to receive the same money in your job for half the responsibility? I would
You evidently lack ambition and self-respect.

New owners want their own people and someone to blame
I thought he WAS one of their people? Or certainly had Brexit Jim's backing for the original appointment?

They were close to relegation when he came in and most of their signings were successful, which is the main reason why they've finished top 7 two seasons in a row.
That was Howe. Howe turned the ship around long before Ashworth had done anything.

And what did he do other than prize BDB away from us? Good signing, mind.

I wonder if Cashworth recommended players during the period when he was contractually bound not to advise Manure .... who've since turned out to be duds. Rubbing salt into the Brexit Jim and Brailsford wounds.

Science has achieved some incredible things. Thanks to science we can put probes on Pluto, we can explore inside the human body while the patient is conscious, we can cure almost every known disease and we understand the fundamental building blocks of our universe.

And yet, despite all this, it still has yet to invent a violin small enough for this news.

Would prefer to hear the story before being too damning TBH. There’s obviously been a major disagreement about some element of club strategy. Wonder what.

i know we have had injuries but after spending near £200m not one of these players is a 1st team regular
O’Riley, surely. Kadıoğlu when back from injury. Bruda and Wieffer come on regularly. Was Minteh injured? And there’s Gomez to come. I thought the new recruits was part of a deepening of the squad to insure against last season’s crises due to injuries. We have a lot of high quality cover now.
