They were close to relegation when he came in and most of their signings were successful, which is the main reason why they've finished top 7 two seasons in a row.
ah so no joke…

erm I doubt he had any impact on Newcastle avoiding relegation …wasn’t he still on gardening leave? Did he pick the side ..coach them…those in the know suggest he had little to do with their subsequent signings..Howe apparently does a lot of his own scouting and relies a lot on Andy Howe…. …..I think u are vastly overestimating his impact there

So, do we want him back or not?!

Anyone know?
Well, no. Another like Potter or Jake Humphrey who’ll do a half decent job once and live off it for the rest of their life. United have found him out.

Dan Ashworth is very good at his job and has been fired because Man Utd haven’t got a clue. To reset the culture there, and create a strategy and identity to enable future success is a multi year task that is going to need some short term pain and patience.

The fact they have bottled it within 5 months when DA has had 4 games to work with a new manager and no transfer windows shows Utd are still a total basket case. Bad for Dan but bloody hilarious for those of us that want to see Utd rot for evermore.

Imagine Jake Humphrey as Director of Football….

Now, there’s a thought.

And not a pleasant one. :ffsparr:

I reckon he’s got quite good at this gardening lark….i’m off for a bit due to health issues and hoping he might fill the gap

You could always try your hand at being a Sporting Director for a bit. I reckon you could do most of it sitting down

Get well soon

If he ever gets a Golden Retriever I reckon Monty Don could be on the way out of Gardeners’ World and ol’ Cashworth could get that gig next.
