One of the things I enjoyed about paying my monthly dues was no adverts. I almost gave it up a month or so ago but thought better of it as I hate adverts in any form.

However, these last 48 hours, NSC on mobile has been almost unusable for me with nagverts and pop ups and things that send me to places of I even so much as over over them.

@Bozza is this permanent or a fault?

If you get time please can you have a look into it.

Please and thank you

👍

You don't have "NSC Patron" under your username, which suggests your subscription may have lapsed, something similar or there's a bug somewhere.

I'll have a poke around and see what's happened.

It looks, from my end at least, as though when payment was attempted on the 5th it failed for some reason. I guess the reasons are the same as any online payment - stopped for security reasons, change of card (if you've been reissued) or lack of funds.

Sorry for not spotting it - it's all completely automated and although I do get emails from Paypal, I have a filter setup that automatically moves them all to a folder, so I don't tend to see them as a matter of course.

Ah yes, I changed my bank card after some fraudulent withdrawals last week.

Almost 500 quid they got out off my account. Refunded now though.

I shall set up again when new card arrives. I didn’t realise PayPal was linked to a card.

Thank you for getting back to me so quick.

Much appreciated 🙏

We need a benevolent fund for NSC patrons who've fallen on hard times.

Sorry to hear that - there's a lot of it about. We've just gone through similar with one of our cards.

Yes. Very annoying eh!

Money was refunded but a pain as payments are coming back unpaid. Lost of calls to make on Monday.

Thanks again.

Hi @Bozza a similar story for me. I changed bank cards a few weeks ago, payments to nsc stopped as a result ... I did ask you how to resume (by starting a new thread about it) but nothing came of that. I just sussed that it's easy ... just click on one's own usename top left and then Account upgrades. All now sorted, you will stay warm this winter :lolol:.

Oh no - sorry - I didn't see that thread.

@The Clamp got lucky - I'm sitting at my mum's and I had a notification of a mention come up as I wasn't doing much else so clicked on it and replied.

This morning I did tell myself that I need to spend a few minutes each evening going through each mention I've had, replying where required, and also the same with my PMs. I have a massive backlog, and it would be a lot easier to just deal with them when they happen, instead of getting to the point where I dread opening up my PMs and having to plough through, which is exactly where I am now!

I'm not sure what thread to bump so will try this one. I'm not sure if my experience is normal but when I'm typing replies the screen just jumps to an ad. Or pulls an add down to where I'm typing really regularly. It seems like every few words. It makes the site virtually unusable and drives me mad. I'm not sure if this is the usual experience or if I'm missing something - an update or something else. I've got no problem with ads I'm general as I know the site needs to pay for itself but this happens 3 or 4 times in a very short reply and seems extremely intrusive compared to other sites. Any advice?

Have you tried turning it on and off repeatedly until you want to smash your head in the wall, tell everyone to go fuckthemselves and then abandon all hope of making it work?

Its how I deal with tech problems.

On a phone?

I know the ad setup is not ideal right now - I've not changed anything for well over six months, but some ad unit behaviours have changed.

Unfortunately because of life stuff I've struggled to find the time to work through it all, but I do genuinely hope to do that this week finally.
