I'm not doubting the storm exists.

But we have had countless recent bad storms without this alarm.

I think a system test has been piggybacked onto this storm to iron out any glitches / test its cyber vulnerabilities - in case Putin kicks off.
Ah, just testing the mobile networks covering Wales and Cornwall then - sod the rest of us if Putin does one.

Speaking as someone living nestled between 3 USAF and RAF airbases, I‘d like to think any ‘piggybacking’ was done in this area 🙂

The red weather alerts are generated by the Met Office and warn of danger to life, likely power loss, damage to homes and infrastructure and urge people not to travel and follow the advice of emergency services.

Launched in 2023, the then Tory Government introduced the emergency text alert system where there was danger to life - red weather alerts mean exactly that however, they are used infrequently and have less to do with storm severity but rather potential impact on life/infrastructure - the last one was in January in Scotland.

I’ve already tried that one, Sparkie is convinced it’s a secret alert test for a Russian invasion ???

My local, everyone got it, multiple times!.
Likewise in the Prince of Wales Bristol....looked like the first scene of a Simon Pegg / Nick Frost movie. Everyone carried on drinking.

Us Albion fans should remember the first time we got this sort of alert...

It is a tad windy isn’t it. It’s Christmas tree collection day for the Giraffe family. Might have to put a coat on.
