[Albion] Is it normal for 30% of our support to leave when we go 2 goals down?

Going 3-1 down on 87 minutes, and some people decide to leave… I’d say that’s pretty normal behaviour for any team.
Quite. Look how many Wolves fans left when they went 2 behind. Sucks to be them now but perfectly acceptable and normal behaviour for any fan.

As @Justice says what does it matter if someone arrives late, goes home early, stays in the bar the second half? They've paid their money like everyone else it's up to them.

I was one of those who left on 87 minutes and make no apology for it. This was 8th time we've played at Craven Cottage since being in the Premier League. I've missed only one of those and yet to see us win. This was a match which was live on tv/online, played on a weekday night with work the next day, and on an absolutely filthy wet and cold night. When that 3rd goal went in, the game was over, and I'd had enough.
Will be getting up early on Sunday to travel to Leicester.

I left on 79 minutes as I had come straight to the game on the end of a 49 hour journey back from Christchurch NZ for the Test Match. I was frozen cold, soaked, jet-lagged and disoriented, and I had a 2.5 hour journey home still to contend with. And I’m a lonely old man, and I was more beaten than the team on the pitch. I’m sorry. See you in The Counting House in Leicester on Sunday lunchtime.

Well it was 1-5 at HT.....so every excuse to go then....but like you I stayed and watched us fight back from 1-8 to 2-8. We have that badge. We were there for the record ever home defeat. Warboys and Bannister got 7 between them and sitting, watching, were Brian Clough and Peter Taylor. ( Whatever happened to them? )

.....and yet we regularly beat them at the Cottage in the Championship.....its a funny ol' game.

I also left when the 3rd went in......a lovely fellow fan decided he would stand in the aisle and not budge because 'it serves them right for trying to leave early'. Uber fan at its most uber.

Dreadful weather!? It was about 10C and dry at the end of the game. Who the hell follows Brighton away, as long as the weather is nice?

A long journey home!? Seriously?

I find it really sad that a large number of long-standing Albion couldn’t get tickets to our first ever European away games due to not being as ‘loyal’ as these fans who leave because we’re losing and it’s raining.
I went to those northern games, Gillingham….. it’s a lot easier getting out of Rochdale, Wrexham and Walsall than it is Fulham!
People have different priorities.
I left when the third went in, because it was crap.

Hope that’s okay….

Yep, agreed. Which was kind of what I was getting at in my clumsy drunken ramblings.

I’m confused by this ‘pain to get to’ thing about Fulham though. It’s a 5 minute train from Putney to Clapham Junction and then direct to Brighton. It couldn’t be much easier for an away game, could it?

You’re assuming everyone lives in Brighton and got the train.

Fine, if you live in Brighton but a lot of fans live a lot further afield ( myself included ) and a few minutes gained before the end can save a lot of time later in the journey, when there are key connections.
When Iwobi scored the 3rd it was a dead game. Time to go. Everyone knew it. I always stay to clap a good performance but I am not a performing seal who feels obliged to stay and clap every single game, irrespective of performance.

I was there also and the match before , when we lost 4-0 to Walton & Hersham and didn’t leave early for that one either

Exactly; I can't see what The Commander is making a fuss about.

Yes, me as well. So you and I are fully paid up members of the ‘After Eight‘ club! I’ve also been to Craven Cottage for every match in the Championship and the PL. I thought this time around we‘ll actually get a result - well that got well and truly scuppered.

I’m afraid I was one of those that left in the 87th minute for no other reason that I had to leg it to catch the last train home. Not easy going through Bishop’s Park when it resembled the aftermath of the Battle of the Somme.
