Van Hecke looked out of sorts playing the right sided centre back role but in fairness, he hasn’t played it before
Um he did - last Friday v Southampton and it was obvious to most of us it didn’t work then.

O’reily has powder puff levels like Wendy Wilkins

Early days though
Really not impressed tonight. On a night where our positioning and physical strength were generally shit, he was the worst on both counts.

Really missed Ayari IMO.
The thing is we really did. Yet their only real midfielder was Scandinavian oil tanker Sander Berge.

Between our 3 selected CMs we should have bossed that midfield, even allowing for a weak MOR.

Need to win on Sunday now. Didn't get any luck yesterday whereas we have played equally average this season and won see man u and bmuff when the luck was in.

7-10th for us this season. Ridiculously hard league.

You do realise we've got a lot games in the run up to Christmas.
It's called game management, utilising and resting players.
It's a fair point but we rarely ever play 2 games in a week, unlike many of the bigger clubs in Europe. Surely our lads our fit enough to play 1 game a week and 2 on the rare occasion for us this ever happens. Yes, Christmas is busier than usual but these are elite athletes and as said we don't have Europe this season or the Fizzy drinks cup, so I personally would like to see a little more consistency in team selection.

The citeh game, half time he made changes then kept making them until we scored.

Yesterday, lamptey was the first change, he should have made more changes, earlier on.

For citeh I praised him even when we were losing and said he was at least trying.

Yesterday, I did not praise him for not making changes.

Was bad enough watching Adingra play right wing at the end of last season when we had no other attackers. Now he's doing it when we've got £70m worth of actual right wingers on the bench. Absolutely baffled.
£70M worth of right wingers (Rutter, Minteh and Gruda) can't get picked ahead of Adingra, O'Riley looks lightweight, and then there's Wieffer... ... ...

Does this team/squad really look £200M better than last season's?

It was a bit of a mess last night in all honesty, it felt like the formation was tweaked to accommodate Dunk, which had the effect of JPVH being left exposed in an unfamiliar position. I'm certain they'd have done loads of drills on the training ground in this system, but to my eyes it didn't work. Perhaps it was borne out of necessity with Lamptey not trusted or fit enough to play right back. Verbruggen's early mistake also unsettled him, leading to a jittery goalkeeper behind a disfunctional defence. The good news is that the manager had a great overview of the match from his perch high up in the stands and he'd have learnt a lot from this.

Hopefully Veltman will be back soon then FH will simply have to choose two out of the three senior fit centre backs, one of them will be pissed off for sure but that's football.

We've got decent squad depth in midfield and up front, it's about finding the right combinations, we're not quite there yet.

I have decided that when everyone is fit that this is currently our best side.

Bart
Veltman JPVH Igor Pervis
O’Riley baleba
Rutter Pedro Mitoma
Welbeck.

Get that side fit and firing please.
You seemed to have missed out Ayari from your opinion on our best side

Not yet in my humble opinion it doesn’t but these players are for the next few seasons not just this
