I agree with a lot of what you say but think that Lopetegui is a far better manager than you give him credit for, certainly better than both Potter and Iraola (so far).
If he hadn’t caused such an almighty mess by sneaking around with Real Madrid whilst Spain manager his star probably wouldn’t have dimmed and he’d be in mind for much bigger jobs than West Ham. Even post the Spain/Madrid debacle he won the Europa. Did a stellar job at wolves under some remarkable financial constraints.
I do think that it’s good news for the Albion because West Ham don’t have the squad to play lovely tika-taka football overnight - Zouma and Ogbonna aren’t going to become ball playing superstars. They’re going to lose Paqueta and despite having the cash, are going to need to spend some serious money to allow Lopetegui to succeed.

'A bookie will only pay out early on a market that they think is probably wrapped up anyway, so they don’t want to take any more bets on what looks to be a sure thing because, even if the odds are now low, they will still lose money on it.
They could simply close the market or slash the odds to ridiculous levels, but a lot of punters don’t like this behaviour and think that it’s a bit unfair.
By paying out before the market has officially been decided, they get to close betting in a positive light, avoiding any future losses and only losing the money they would have lost anyway.
Of course, this relies on there being no upsets or surprises, but that’s the rationale"

You can't have Potter laying the foundations at Brighton for RDZ, if Lopetegui didn't at Wolves for GON. Wolves were bottom when Lopetegui took over, they were 13th by the time he left.Gary ON has done a better job at Wolves already this season with a weaker squad

Looks like Julian Lopetegui is under huge pressure this afternoon as West H'aaaaaaaaaa'm boss. Expectations at the beginning of the season were for them challenging for a top 6 spot but currently a fair way off that despite showing glimpses of brilliance.
Surely any new manager deserves more time and they should keep the faith?
Will be interesting to see who they go for, rumours that Southgate would be interested in the gig or Ten Hag for an early return to the EPL.

Strikes me that there are a lot of similarities between Moyes > Lopetegui and Hughton > Potter. West Ham are actually playing quite well, often 60+% in games, 20+ shots and chances. Main difference is that I don't remember us conceding quite so many goals. We'd lose by a single goal after playing well rather than letting 3 or 4 in. Part of this might be that our squad was motivated and hungry after nearly dropping from the PL, whereas some in this WHU team appear to still want to be doing things the Moyes-way.
Definitely needs a bit of time if they want to transform their playing style with what is a bit of an ageing squad.

Yes you can - Potter left RDZ a team that was zinging along near the top of the PL, and RDZ almost managed to finish the season in the same position. Lopetegui left O'Neill with an ordinary team wandering around in lower mid table.

No way should they sack manager Won at Newcastle and lost against Arsenal and Leicester. I watched most of latter game. Completly dominated 1st half and should have scored at least 3 goals. Had 30 shots. Fans wanted better football which they now have but without results so far.

I stand by my original point however. If you believe that Potter was responsible for Brighton becoming relegation battlers to a European side, then you can't turn around and say it was remarkably different for Wolves under JL. He took them from the worst team in the league (20th when he took over) to 13th whilst under such bad financial conditions that he had to leave. Potter improved Brighton and laid a good foundation for the next manager. Lopetegui improved Wolves and laid a good foundation for the next manager.
Honestly though, who cares. Right now I wouldn't touch either Potter or Lopetegui if I was a club with West Ham's aims. Potter got over 20% of his Brighton wins in his last 14 games and sure it gave the impression it had all finally clicked and we were going to be brilliant forever more but who knows if that was actually going to come true or not. Almost his entire reign can be seen as long runs of good form, and long runs of bad form. Ultimately, Bloom and the club have turned us into an incredibly flexible force where we can lose managers and players and continue to improve. That's who is responsible for our success and JL was a band-aid for Wolves continual struggle to stay above water, which is the responsibility of their owners.
Problem with Lopetegui is that he's not famed for being a particularly attacking manager. He's known for being defensively sturdy whilst playing possession based football. Despite that being his tactical style, only Wolves and Leicester have conceded more this season so far. Something isn't working out on the pitch.
30 shots against Leicester might imply that they were a tad unlucky in front of goal, but the xG stats show that those 30 shots were only worth just under 3 goals, something that Leicester were able to do in just 8 shots.
If rumours are true and Sérgio Conceição is waiting in the wings at West Ham, I can't see them sticking with Lopetegui, especially if they have to beat Everton to him. They've spent so much money on that squad over the last 2/3 years and are at a point where they need to be where we are both tactically and results wise.
It would be peak West Ham for their board to buckle under the pressure of their moronically impatient fans (and they have a bigger percentage of such twats in their support than most clubs), only for Lopetegui to turn up at a more patient club like Southampton or Middlesbrough and turn them right round inside 18 months.

He is a flake, I couldn't agree more... he's the equivalent of putting the sixth form regional chess champ in charge of the school football team... Tactically astute but likely to cry if he gets told he's a roll neck wearing plank.
He'd flounder after the odd 10 game barren streak at the entitled hammers - just like every other club, with the exception of ours. . . I'd feel sorry for him wasn't so incredibly rich off the back of his folly.
