[Albion] If Ferguson is now worth £51m, maybe Hürzeler might consider letting him play?

Very much so.

Liam Delap feels like a fair-ish comparison. Delap does all the bullying, unlike our lad.
It's been a bit dispiriting (as an Albion fan) watching Delap in the PL this season, as he is pretty much everything I want Ferguson to be (and Evan most certainly isn't, at this moment in time at least). Of course, Delap is 20 months older and has more league experience so it probably isn't an entirely fair comparison. I still have high(ish) hopes for Ferguson but he hasn't yet had the impact this season I would have wanted.

It’s bizarre because when he first got into the team he was well up for a bit of argy Bargy and getting stuck in. Now he just seems to jog around half heartedly. I understand him needing time because of age but he just doesnt seem to put in the shift we are seeing from others.
Yes - I remember him chasing down all sorts of half chances and going in on the defenders when they were dawdling a little - scared them witless, and we got a few goals after his harassing of the defence. That all seems to have vanished rather.

I remember that Everton away game where he scored a great header and absolutely bullied Tarkowski and Coady all match.

Experienced bruiser centre halves got battered by a teenager and couldn’t cope with him. I was blown away.

Unfortunately post injury he’s not shown any sign of that side of his game. He looks scared to get involved physically and the game passes him by.

Hoping he can sort his head out soon.

Liam Delap has been considered a world class prospect since his England U21 days. Sure, City gave up on him because he's struggled in his loan spells, but at least reaching PL level has been no doubt imho.

I'm surprised that you don't put a bit more weight to the 20 months age difference. On this day twenty months ago, Delap gets subbed on in the Championship, playing his 11th game in a row without scoring. As you might know better than anyone in here, lots can happen with young players within 20 months.. :)

Liam also have the advantage of a more slender body shape, bit like Welbeck, whereas Ferguson is naturally broad and looks a bit like Christian Vieri. A body that is rare among PL players these days and makes it difficult to run in channels like someone like Delap. Its very energy demanding moving that body around.

I think they're quite different but Fergie needs to become better than Delap to establish himself in the PL. You have to be as invaluable as Zlatan in his only season in United to get away with preserving energy in the PL.

Hopefully it works out but dunno if he'll reach the level Delap will reach.

Every time he (doesn't) get the ball, I know he won't score a goal..

Sadly - you can count the number of touches he had on Friday night on 1 hand. & this is becoming a common occurrence

No it wouldn't.
It MIGHT do Evan some good, it might not.
However it absolutely will NOT do BHA any good THIS season. Only 12 games in it is THIS season which counts, not the next.
If he needs competitive minutes then play for the U21s in between match day squads. He'll get lots of minutes for the first team over the Xmas period anyway, then it's the FA cup.
I disagree, I don’t think having Ferguson on the pitch does us any good at all at the moment. In fact it does us harm as we’re effectively down to 10 men when he’s on. He’s miles off it.

Desperately needs a loan.

I feel like the best thing to do is to give him time to do what he needs to do to refind his form. He is currently stuck behind an in form Welbeck.

The boy will come good, just give him time.

Personally, if we can get 50 million for him, I’d take it. He’s so laid back, for me, he doesn’t have the hunger, or arrogance to be a great at this level, it’s just my opinion.

Agree Just like Connelly score 2/3 goals early in PL. Club than protects investment by giving a big contract in case the next star and than just hope. He may well put good % of chances away but he has to earn them by good movement and ability to retain the ball. Neither is he able to achieve. No good forward runs in box always with back to goal and waste of time hitting long balls to him because does not have the ability or strength to retain By this time in his career should be making such an impression in sub appearances that manager considering resting Welbeck for a couple of games He is still young but with lack of improvement not looking good. As manager often says its not only goals but what you do off the ball.

When Harry Kane was Ferguson’s age he was preparing to head to Norwich and sit on the bench in the champo.

Yes I know these transfer stories are bollocks. But in the space of about 6 months, these stories have gone from linking him with £100/£150m transfers to Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool to now Forest, Leicester, West Ham and Fulham!

You haven't mentioned Fat Frank's Coventry.
That's where the ones that get away go to!

Pointless move for him. He'd still be on the bench there, until Chris Wood retires!

Rumours seemingly started by Football Insider - whose research is so good they haven't even realised that he can't be loaned to Leicester (unless Buonanotte's loan is cancelled, which ain't gonna happen!)
