I think I'm getting better at it now I have a strategy, which is probably the same as everyone else's?
Start with a word beginning with "h" or "i", and then go half-way between the guess and the start / end of the alphabet depending whether the answer is before or after, then keep going in the middle of your guesses each time?
I do the same but start with M

Pretty much but usually L for me. There’s an argument for going lower because of the lower frequency of words at the end of the alphabet but I try to keep it simple.

There's always an element of luck involved if you score under 10. I think the mean guess stats are starting to come out between 13 and 17. The word is always a relatively common one and I think there is a simple logical process which most folk are now following. It's a good start to the day to wake up the brain though. It's a bit like learning the Rubik Cube in a way. Once you've got the process you've got it. But it's still satisfying once you've done it.

Yes, I was jesting.

It is a simple game of dictionary splitting, start with a word like More and then go from there...
