War in Syria set to take another serious turn and yet people more interested in Gregg Wallace antics....
… like you. On here commenting on Gregg Wallace’s antics.

All these women, moaning about their trite allegations. Tsk.

I just wish that at least one news source was still reporting on the Syrian situation instead they are all just focusing on Gregg Wallace. It’s all Al Jazeera are talking about.

Who says people are more interested?

Also, it is possible for two separate thoughts to coexist…..some people have even more!

I agree but 'silly twat makes silly twat of themselves' is always entertaining. Just don't mistake it for news
Of course it’s news. It goes right to the heart of the wider debate regarding abuse of power / status in the workplace and also how / if it is acted upon when reported.

No wonder people subjected to this kind of stuff have little faith that reporting it will make any difference if the prevailing attitude is “silly twat makes silly twat of themselves.”

May as well just say, Oh that’s just Gregg being Gregg. Now run along and try not to worry your pretty little head about it.

I didn't say or infer anything like what you have posted though, don't get me wrong, he deserves everything that's coming to him, he's a horrible little **** who does nothing for society.

I'm just agreeing with @Wardy's twin that there are other things which really should be taking more of our attention

How do you know how much attention every person is paying to each specific news story?

Sorry, you've lost me
The implication from saying there are more important things is that people should focus on the important things and, by default, shut up about this silly old fool.

In other words, we should shut up.

We will, I'm sure. But there is still mileage to be had.

I for one will enjoy the narrative till it's inevitable end (Ron Atkinson and his attempted rehabilitation springs to mind).

You said there are things we should be paying more attention to.

I was wondering how you knew how much attention everyone was paying to what news topics?

Don’t worry about it. I knew what you meant.

Ignore me. I’m very tired and cranky. Long weekend.

I'm thoroughly enjoying seeing a gammon twat being called out for being a gammon twat.

By saying it's not the most important news in the world, I really don't think I am therefore supporting Gammon twats (but obviously some may think otherwise )

But let's get back to Gammon twats as there are a couple who are notable on here only by their absence

I thought the same. In that ITV and Sky having a field week, making this their opening, very long stories today. With small pieces about Russia bombing civilians in Syria.

Whatabout the Labour meltdown?

Or is that local news, relevant only in Mile Oak?

Seriously, the day one starts getting bemused or even agitated by the choices different media outlets make in their coverage (unless for purposes of low comedy) to the point of making value judgements about whether something should or should not be discussed (except in sub judice situations) is the second or third most egregious acts of futility, after pushing string and expecting Godot.

As far back as I can recall, personally knowing rape victims, I’ve always been pro women‘s safety / anti pervy masculinity. With comments backing the women early in this thread.

It was just that tonight the ITV news really stood out. No new news from women, it was the Wallace fightback with his video. Then almost as “in other news …. Russia bombs civilians”. I get the scale that means domestic news has a different threshold, but this was notable.

Oh, the Wallace fightback....that's grim.

Still....it is going to end so badly for him now he has singled out middle class women.....
What next? An homily to simple working class lasses who like their arses slapped?

I may have to order some popcorn. Salty, of course. What do you think I am?

All the best

I have a daughter and therefore am interested in both.

I don’t want her subjected to sexist comments, intimidation or groping at school, work or if she ever gets on a cooking show.

I’d also like the world not to end before she turns 30.

Almost all his UK credibility has gone.

Other than of course GB News and I wonder if the beheading employers of Keys/Gray want to start a cooking prog?

The news headlines are always somewhat 'interesting' in their prioritisation and could kick off a thousand threads.

But as I said earlier, in this thread, seeing a stupid twat make a stupid twat of themselves is always highly entertaining. It's why I never ignore a poster or thread on NSC

I still believe I'll persuade Harry round to my way of thinking

Is there anything particularly gammon twaty about what Wallace has said and done?

Unless I've missed something (and I've been paying only vague attention to this) the sort of behaviour he's accused of is, unfortunately, not by any means limited to the sort of people I'd file under that description.
