Just watching the Kettering V Donny game and Barry Fry talking about when we played Barnet in the cup at Underhill in 82’. 0-0 at theirs then beat them 3-1 at the Goldstone.
Going on to say we bought Graham Pearce of them after that, then he went on to play in the cup final the following year. .. The magic of the FA cup.

Signed programme from that game at underhill.

Lovely guy. Shook his hand last time he was at the Theatre of Trees. Remember Barnet away well. Palace had played Enfield with a 13.00 kick-off, just in time for us to clash with them afterwards. Top policing....not!!

I remember that game … It was late on we finally won it. Was it extra time, I remember my big bruv wanting a pint but we were going to miss it because of time.

Nsc sponsored a match at Withdean against Posh, which entitled a few fans to sit in the north stand just in front of the directors. Martin Perry was going spare, because the erstwhile fans were chanting, (frowned upon in that area) but worse than that, it was How wide is Barry Fry.

He was seated just behind and laughing!

Looking good for his age
And his lifestyle. Didn't make it at ManU as a lad owing to 'refuelling' issues.

Cheer up Barry Fry
Oh what can it mean?
To a fat cockney bastard
And a shit football te eeam?

And he smile and clapped
And we clapped back.
Withdean, some years ago.

Went to watch a play off final at Wembley with Sarah Watts, God knows who was playing but the seats were in the posh seats. Sarah had got them through the Supporters Club. Barry Fry was in front of us and spent the game chatting. True old school, lovely chap.

Gave Barnet a fair bit of money back then for players. Weren't Nicky Bissett and Robert Codner record signings for players from Non League football when we signed them in 1988?

Stayed with a landlady in Foredown Drive, as a kid he gave me lots of signed Chelsea programmes... Im sure @Harry Wilson's tackle might have remembered this?
Evening squire. Digweed was at the club 81 to 93. I was only an occasional visitor to Portslade then, living in London 81-82, then Canada for 4 years, then back to London, so this sadly passed me by.

Sully lived in a house on the Old Shoreham Road (for the first year or so of his time with us, at least). Somehow Reg knew about it and pointed out the house every time we drove past it.

"Sully lives there" he would say.
After the first 50 mentions, I'm pretty sure I knew the layout of the house, the pattern on the living room wallpaper, and Sully's favourite meal.
It was prawn cocktail followed by gammon and pineapple, all nicely rounded off with spotted Dick and, at the weekend, a lovely slice of Black Forest Gateaux.

Hope all's well. Not spotted you on the West Upper concourse for a while

Post cup final, back in the 2nd division, standing on the west terrace and whoever was manager then (Chris Caitlin?) spent most of the first half yelling instructions at Graham Pearce. Eventually someone behind me shouted in a voice that could be hear throughout the ground "Pearcey, Pearcey, for gawds sake listen to him he giving me a f@+&ing headache" Strange what you remember!

I think that Lush and SuperPhil were part of that group, unless I’m confusing it with another occasion.
