We will probably have the chance to cement a top four place with a win but instead we’ll blow it and allow Palace to get out of the relegation zone. Another Brighton Way game upcoming.

Let’s hope the players are well up for it, like last season. We were in terrible form and went into that 4-1 win off the back off two 0-0 draws and getting stuffed 4-0 at Luton!

I can see it now. 1st half play like prime Barcelona creating loads of chances yet only managing to score one. Then 2nd half play like shite and end up losing to a freak goal. You heard it here first 🤣

I wouldn’t have said we were in terrible form going into that game last season, erratic might be a better word.

We beat Spurs 4-2, drew 0-0 at West Ham, won 4-2 at Stoke in the FA Cup, drew 0-0 at home to Wolves, smashed Sheffield United 5-2 in the FA Cup, got thumped 4-0 at Luton then went and smashed Palace 4-1, lost 2-1 at Spurs and then thrashed Sheffield United again 5-0. Very Jekyll and Hyde you never knew which Brighton would turn up, which I think is probably true of a lot of last season.

Looking forward to it. We have plenty of big game players, many of them with experience from the most heated, violent and intense rivalries in Europe.
Someone like Ferdi who has played games in front of 60k people who would literally kill him if it wasn't for Turkish military police at stadiums... well, Palace isn't going to be something to lose sleep over.

That said, best approach will be to ignore the rivalry entirely. If we go into the game with the mindset "its going to be a war and yadda yadda", Palace will be very pleased compared to if we say "lets go out there and play our football and beat them". As long as the game is about football we stand a very good chance of winning.

As we approach Christmas, it’s written in the stars that we’ll be giving Palace a gift.
