Last time we played Southampton at the Amex Just LAST YEAR !! They were rock bottom of the table , we needed to win to get into Europe no less AND ...WE DID. No sign of glue, tar or feathers or indeed, nails.
Brilliant! We will win then.

Ahem.

Nothing Can Go Wrong Now.

We did in the end but I still have Stains’ “2-0 and you f***ed it up” ringing in my ears

Of course and they nearly equalised i think (hit the post ? ) but idea that we NEVER beat the bottom teams or NEVER win when we're favourites at home . In fact it happens a fair bit but we like to pretend it doesn't in case its BAD LUCK.

They had a goal disallowed that would have made it 2-2, didn't they? A very marginal offside call by VAR, as I remember.

You’re right to push back! I’m not among the pessimists in any case, I predict a win every time the score predictor thread comes around

I'm just going to put this out there

I wouldn't be stunned if Evan starts

This should now slowly sink down the Main Board unless at 6.45 tomorrow ???

I obviously absolutely love Dunky, but I really hope he doesn't start tomorrow...
As well as JPvH and Igor have played, we haven't kept a single clean sheet whilst Dunky's been out. Our last one was in Dunk's most recent game against Newcastle. In fact we haven't kept a league clean sheet without Dunk since 2 January 2024.

Yeah, but for a bit or context since then we've played Liverpool twice, man city, and Bournemouth who had also been getting a lot of praise. And a brain fart again wolves last 3 minutes. The games before Newcastle we also conceded 2 v spurs, 4 v Chelsea, and 2 v forest.

Not knocking Dunk - just a bit of context! Personally I'd like to see Igor and JPvH keep their places for tomorrow - think they've deserved to

Can't see Enciso starting, was playing for the U21s this week. I'm going to guess we'll go

Verbruggen
Veltman JPVH Igor Estupinian
Wieffer Ayari
Georginho Pedro Mitoma
Welbeck

Dunk on the bench, Minteh, O'Riley and Adingra all capable impact subs. Weiffer in as the more defensive CM.
This be the team. 👆

I think Hürzeler will have to rotate in December with the amount of fixtures we have. So why not start against Stains at home?

I think he’ll keep it tight in the first half and then target the 2nd half of the game and leave some top talent on the bench to come on and change things.

I didn’t see Ferdi in the training so will assume he misses out on the squad.

Game changers for 2nd half:
O’Riley
Welbeck
Rutter
Mitoma
