If I'm reading that correctly the works are only Monday to Thursday so Friday night won't be affected? The - 29 November bit in your bolding presumably covers 00.01 - 05.00 on 29th and not Friday night?

We do need the tour guide / train guru's opinion though!

EDIT: There’s been an easement on Friday night, so all normal services continue until end of service, EXCEPT for the final Worthing service which will now be a bus at 0126.

Blimey - this could be carnage especially with all the Saints fans heading west.
I’d be shocked if any Saints fans are using that route as even if you left at half time you would have missed the last (2113) Southampton Service via Chichester. If any are planning on doing it in a day on the train, they’d have to go via Clapham.

Sussex but not by the sea
Both clubs should have asked for the game to be rescheduled to a time fit for purpose
That would require either club to actually give a shit. As bloody amazing as our board are this is the one blot, I genuinely do not believe that they really care that much about this. The ground is always full, with people spending loads. Yes fans moan about the trains but guess what - the ground is always full, with people spending loads.

To be fair there is probably not a lot the club can do, hence why he doesn't talk about it. CEO Rule 1 - don't bring up a problem if you can't improve it as all you're doing is highlighting the problem. Barber gives it lip service but I've worked with enough CEOs in my time.....

The train company, police and the club can give objections but ultimately the Premier League have final say, I'd say the police probably have the most influence other than the league.

I think I would prefer to trust @jackalbion that the club email when it comes to rail info
