In addition Baleba submits a transfer request, the new Fan Zone collapses and the PL hit us with financial irregularity charges.
And the trains are shit.

Actually that’s just a given.

Quite a lot however with Fabian we seem to have a far better mentality than I think I've ever seen and a real self-belief within the squad.
Ipswich
Forest
Wolves

Every single time this season we've gone into a game as clear overdogs at home, we have failed to win.

Fab’s going to City, isn’t he? ☹️

edit: sorry, are we just talking about Friday, or the whole season? 🤣

However look what's happened since.

Admittedly we are better on the road as our game suits that but I think things will change at home now.

His youthful positivity rubs off on the players. The HT team talks against Spurs and City must’ve been remarkable, the players came out for the second halves as if we were the vastly superior team. The scoreline scrubbed from their minds. Not bothered about the expensive ‘names’ they faced.

The only bit I would disagree on that is I would suspect our squad is probably of a higher value than Spuds.

Never - we are joint third after 12 games! We're not the old Albion anymore.
Mate don't mishear me - these are BRILLIANT times. But we have continued our trend this season of underperforming in every single home game where we are favourites. We need to be playing Real Madrid every week.

The squad is better than last season, the manager is calmer than De Zerbi and we do not have European football to tire out the players.

Leicester have done us a small favour by sacking Cooper because that ramps up the pressure on Martin and Saints - a point isn't good enough really, so they'll surely have to come out and attack, and that will suit us.

Overall I'm optimistic about our challenge for Europe staying the course. We also have Gomez incoming to bolster the ranks. It would be nice to see another centre back brought in during the window as cover, as when we hit late March JPVH will have Citeh then Spain home and away, then Villa. A tall order to face Haaland, then Williams/Morata/Yamal x 2, then Watkins.

Wage bill, the long term measure of final league place, is in another universe. There’s a reason internationals such as Maddison, Van Der Ven, Bentacur, Romero chose them.

A lot of our value is made from promising players into superstars.

And our squad largely just spend their time preparing for PL games with a big rest in between.

Villa already looked f*cked from having the extra competition.

I can’t work this place out threads appear after Saturday’s win top four can we go for the title, how good is Fabian to let’s shit ourselves over the team who have picked up one win all season
From our experiences with playing bottom teams over the last five years... you kind of have to be senile not to be worried.

The mentality has to change and hopefully it has improved since Forest & Wolves. Both games were won the players threw away the points. In both games we didn’t need a third goal.
The bench Saturday were screaming at Adingra the corner go to the corner he then cuts inside and loses possession. They will learn eventually.

So to summarise:

1. Stains keeper McCarthy has a worldie.
2. Attwell gets the gig and sends off another Albion player (Van Hecke) for no justifiable reason whilst giving Stains an ultra soft penalty.
3. Both Joao Pedro and O’Riley are ankle crunched by unpunished Stains thugs and limp off for the rest of the year.
4. We hit the woodwork 4+ times.
5. VAR overturns a genuine goal because JP’s dreads were offside.
6. There are no pies left at half time.

So apart from the fact that we've only ever won 3 Prem Lge games in a row twice (last season v Newcastle H, Man Utd A and then Bournemouth H, all 3-1 victories. The other time in the 2018-2019 season against West Ham H, Newcastle A and then Wolves H, all by a 1-0 scoreline) and that our playing record on a Friday at The Amex is Pld 21, W12, D5, L4 for a 57.1% win %, the best win % of any day we have played Lge games at home (the last defeat being nearly 9 years ago, by Wolves 0-1 on New Years Day 2016), then nothing's going to go against us statistically is it?😜

Ipswich, Forest, Wolves this season, Sheffield United, Burnley, Everton last season - just when you think there aren't any more different ways to drop points at home to lesser sides, we find a new one. So be prepared to be amazed on Friday, and not in a good way.

I'm already planning to text my Liverpool-supporting mate a screenshot of the table on Friday night with a comment about how he should be scared that we're chasing them down.

Which pretty much guarantees we're gonna lose on Friday somehow.
