In great form, looking confident, closer and closer to full strength and playing Friday night at home against the team that is bottom of the table. A win, or even a score draw, would put us second in the league, if only for a night.

Well we've all been Albion fans long enough to know what comes next. We've been through this before and we'll be running up to punt the ball knowing for sure that Lucy will whip it away at the last minute and we'll find ourselves flat on our back again. So before somebody posts the equivalent of @prodnose's old favourite of standing up in the middle of the crowd and shouting 'Nothing can go wrong now!' lets have guesses of how it will actually go wrong: An early sending off? A below par performance? Southampton being brilliant? A dull 0-0? A mixture of any or all of the above?

What's your guess for how the bubble will burst? Perhaps if we say them all aloud, we'll break the hoodoo.

We will spend the first half looking like none of our team have ever played football and don’t know any of their team mates, probably concede 2 on the counter attack. Smash them 2nd half just can’t score, concede another late on when we are over committing up front

Big wins often come with the disadvantage that its difficult for players to really recharge for the next game. Playing against the worst team in the league isn't helping in that regard.

There's certainly a risk they will be more hungry than us.

But yeah... they're bad, think we'll get the 3 points. Imho we're more likely to struggle in any of the "easy" December games.

I predict an absolute battering for the first 25 minutes from the brave boys in blue & white, hit the bar and have a goal ruled out for offside.

Soton - with their first real foray into our final third - nick a goal on the counter that takes TWO deflections (Verbruggen into Igor) on the way in. A scrappy, crappy goal to concede.

We spend the rest of the game relentlessly battering them - 28 shots to their 4. Maybe even nick an equaliser near the end, but it'll still feel like yet another massive missed opportunity for 3 points (just like Ipswich, Forest, Wolves, etc etc).

The proverbial banana skin. I thought Saints showed some quality against Liverpool which could work in our favour with regard to underestimating them. Newcastle slipping up against the Hammers also gives us a timely reminder that there aren’t any outstandingly bad teams this year.

I actually have seen Soton live this season - opening day against Newcastle.

They were actually quite lively first 20-25 mins, were clearly relying on counter attacks and Brereton Diaz was being a massive shithouse, managed to get Schar sent off.

Personally am 100% confident of a win, we have momentum and most players available. Saints are totally devoid of any confidence and I am assuming the club have thought about a management change but seen there is little options any better bar possibly Potter but maybe cannot afford to pay-off their current manager?
