Looking at the championship table i'm quite excited by the prospect of an away day to Sunderland next season, if they can get up. Proper club (IMHO), huge stadium and loud fans are all reasons i'd like to see them go up. Would love someone like Plymouth to go up. I've always had a great time when I've been to watch football there and visit.

So, who'd you like to see promoted and why?

I would quite like Sunderland to go up as the Stadium of Light is another ground to tick off. Ditto Leeds and Middlesbrough. But, please, don’t use the term ‘proper club’ - traditional or historic, yes. It infers that clubs that have not had a successful past or won lots of trophies are not ‘proper’ like us, or Bournemouth and Brentford. Despite that we are in the flight on merit - now that does make it proper.

Does it matter?

England doesn't have 20 PL teams so whoever goes up, it will be a matter of "teams you'd like to see doing a short visit in the limbo world between Championship and the PL".

Spent two hours yesterday watching a demotivated and hung over Liverpool jogging to victory against a desperately fighting Championship side. Even when Liverpool went 2-1 down you had to be severly brain damaged to believe in anything but a Liverpool win.

Such is the gap right now. Maybe Leeds or Sunderland have the financial muscle and supporter base to challenge to stay up, if they do everything right for the next 10 years or so. As it stands they probably can't sign the 10-15 PL quality players needed if they're going to stay up.

Wake me up when the league is reduced to a number it can support quality wise, maybe 18, and I'll be interested in the newcomers and top fights in the Championship.

Coventry City, their story in the last 20 years should ring some bells with our fan base (albeit never quite as dramatic)

Torquay or Scunthorpe for me, due to a) having friends who support them and b) a couple of good stories there really. Would be nice for the same reason to see either Plymouth of AFC Wimbledon make their way up there as well.

It depends what your criteria is:

1. If a 'one off' season with no ongoing basis: Rangers and Celtic:
2. On an ongoing basis: Coventry.
3. They're a top club and deserve it: Doncaster Rovers.

Last season was the first time since 1997/98 that all 3 promoted clubs went straight back down to the Championship.
There is obviously a gap, but it CAN be bridged by well-run clubs and wise recruitment.

on another note who to keep up? I want Palace down for obvious reasons but also to escape by some unjust reason to another club just so we get the local derby match next season. I would also like to see Southampton stay up.
