Overall good, but like jurrasic park, you can't beat the original..

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Made sure I didn't watch the original and took it as it was meant, a follow up from the original.

Although not 100% sure Paul Mescal was right for the role personally. The use of CGI for the monkeys was also really weird.

The sharks and baboons on roids were a bit far fetched but the battle scenes were decent

It's ok. Basically it follows the plot of the original almost step by step, but doesn't do any of it even half as well. Mescus was a weak casting option, he drags the whole production down. How he got the part I'll never know. Plus the sharks and baboons are just silly.

It's not boring. It's just all a bit...meh.

We recently watched the original with the kids, now they’re a bit older… it’s quite rightly considered a ‘modern’ classic…

We were going to see ‘2’ but after watching the trailers a few times… cgi monkeys and ridiculous baboons… well, we just were a bit meh tbh… by the looks of it… it’s louder, (ahem) LOUDER… it’s bigger, it’s more of everything… yet I suspect all the less for it.

However, each to their own…

You've assessed it pretty well there, despite not seeing it! Spot on, less would've been more.

I suspect the younger gen might appreciate it more, especially those who haven't seen the original. I think for the rest of us though, this is a pale imitation. I'm surprised Ridley Scott let it slip so far from the standards he set.

Save your shekels for Titanic 2 out next year, Kosh. Rose goes on a cruise on Symphony of the Seas out of Scumhampton, they sail east along the English channel to the Strait of Dover, try and fail to spot Sheffield around the coastal bulge of Norfolk and Suffolk and return to Scumhampton for a medium-sized fish supper before disembarking.

These are a good film.

Gladiator is Mrs Bobkin's favourite ever film and we went to see the second one last Sunday. Absolutely loved it and I actually thought it was better than the original (I've watched it loads of times, because of the above!).

Mescal was pretty good, I thought. Probably not as strong as Crowe, but a convincing lead who grew throughout the film.

Opinions, eh? :lolol:

It's a 6/10... not as big a production as the first film, felt a bit thin on polish and atmosphere.

Baboons and sharks .. bloody ridiculous....

Rhino being ridden .. even more ridiculous.

Original film got a solid 10/10 from me.
