Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler speaking to BBC Sport: "I think it was exactly the game we expected. Bournemouth are very intense and after the international break it is difficult to immediately come back together.

"In the second half we changed a little bit and player really good, scored the second but then we get the red card. We can't accept that honestly because you can't give the yellow card [for that].

"It is also the strength of the team that they stayed together and we keep learning from bad experiences in the past. I'm proud of the team today.

"There is no surprise [at the progress] or expectations. It is belief in the process and the guys. If you see them work every day you see an unbelievable work ethic. When you are a man down you have to stick together and support each other. We can improve on a lot of points but I believe in the process.

"It's important now to stay humble and stay grounded because their game could go in a different direction today.

"Stay humble. Stay hard workers because that is our identity. We have a vision of where we want to go but it is important to go step by step.

"This league is unpredictable and things can change immediately. We must work hard and keep focused on the process."

Bloody marvellous. And doubly so with most of the other results (so far) going our way.

Looking ahead, Stains play tomorrow so they have only a five day turnaround till they come to the Amex. Let’s hope the Micky Mousers give them a massive runaround tomorrow with injuries and red cards in abundance.
They've already lost Ramsdale & Bednerek (2 of their better players) for our game - but no Baleba for us

Here's a bit of advice for anyone whose stream goes down as mine did - DON'T follow the match on this thread !

I knew it was 1-2 with minutes left but threads kept popping up saying "Adringa what have you done" - naturally I assumed they had equalised and stormed off in a strop.
Apologies. I was very stressed out and was typing almost verbatim what a very angry Warren was saying on the wireless.

Massive 3 points, love both those goals, just exquisite build up play.
Veltman MOTM for me, Atwell really needs to find a nice hobby and retire.
Judging by his sniff-tastic performance today, maybe he'll step up to hobby horse* ???

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler speaking to Sky Sports: "I think we have to see the performance with different views. From one side of things it was not the best football game form our side, but it was a good game to prove the togetherness, to show we can suffer together and defend together and that's why I am proud of my team.

"The other side is that we can play better football. In some moments we were lucky, in same moments Bournemouth were better. Of course the red card changes the game for me, that's why I am proud. We can play better football."

"We also had really good moments, we tried to play our from the back even when the pressure was really high. That's why I was pleased with some moments but not with the whole game.

On Joao Pedro: "Every team has a player that makes the difference and I don't judge him by the goals and the assists, I judge him how he works for the team and you also have to see how hard he works for the team and how hard he worked to come back. He made the difference for us - he proved that in the last game and he proved that today.

On the red card: "It's a clear thing. It can't be a yellow card the second one, never ever. Hopefully the referee will look at this and make a decision and they take back the yellow card because honestly that's never a yellow card."

Forgiven. I have calmed down and was delighted when I returned to find us still 2-1 up.

Without watching the game on stream I think the best thing to do is put your head in a bucket of cold water and surface at 5.05pm to face the music.

Hurtzeler after they scored heard him on my stream:
“Get it to the corner. GET IT TO THE CORNER”

Adingra ‘I know I’ll turn inside and lose it’

Not that it mattered in the end, but concentration levels to win these games have to be 100% and for the most part brilliant from all of them despite Atwell’s shocker.

Key moment that. We need to learn better game management. Could have easily ended up another Wolves which wouldn’t have been deserved and gutting. Knew Baleba was getting send off after the first booking. He is still a bit naive. Needs to reign it in a little after a booking but that’s his game snd only other option is to sub off. Agree with the Weiffer comments. Pleased he did well after coming on after lots of stick including from me!

I tuned into the BBC at 90+7 on Football Pages with Albion 2-1 up. The first thing I heard was Warren raging about how Albion had given the ball away and then he starts to describe the move that followed. Memories of Wolves flooding back, I thought they had scored a last gasp equaliser. Warren finally ended his tirade by saying Albion had dug in and three points was mentioned.

My relief was overwhelming.

Bigger losses for them. Obviously Carlos is brilliant but I’m relieved it’s against Stains (as opposed to Fulham in the game after). Ayari and Handsome Matt/Dutch Mats is fine. And maybe young Jack will be fit too.

That reminds me of those cardboard tables they used to give away with shoot magazine, where you slotted the teams in as they changed position throughout the season. I used to religiously keep them up to date until around mid September when it became boring and a faff.

That’s harsh. It’s barely a foul, let alone a yellow. You can’t legislate refereeing incompetence.

In a couple of years time expect to see a video shot in Stuart Atwell's front room with a coked up off-duty referee confessing to thinking Brighton and Hove Albion are a bunch of Koontz.
Nob-end.
I suspect you and I have tapped into the same trope.

Yes it is a nightmare when you can't actually see the action . I've taken all kinds of actions when the stream goes down from to walking the dog to watching cricket on YouTube but eventually you have to face reality and find out the final score. I've found putting on the BBC sport page at about 5pm and going to the Premier Table and pressing update is the kindest way - a quick glance at our points total lets you know the result before you flick to the actual score.
