A lot of people voted for Barabus.

If the question is who is the best British singer in a rock'n'roll style then my vote would have to go to the irascible old lockdown sceptic:

To be fair, Barabbas was unquestionably the more rock and roll choice.

I'm more of a music person than a singer person, which is why I'd argue quite strongly that Pete Townshend is the best answer to this question, but as far as singers are concerned I'd throw in Eric Burdon and Ian Gillan.

I can't fathom anyone voting for anyone except Freddie Mercury as the best singer in this list.
Also IMO the best entertainer.
Few others on there with a shot at most all round talented, like Elton John, but best singer? Freddie all day long.

Great singer but he had about as much to do with rock and roll as Bruce Forsyth.

I’m not so sure, I mean “rock and roll” is different things to different people and so many artists and singers touch on rock without doing solely rock music. It’s a tricky one. Elton John for instance has done some rock and roll, some soul, some showtunes, some power ballads…
