Totally agree with both of you. Thought they were excellent and videos supplemented the music perfectly.
Coming up before the end of the year- Get Down Services, Porridge Radio, IDLES and The Skids. Very much hope to squeeze The Go Team in as well.

They were excellent at the Dome a couple of weeks back, even if it meant I missed the Liverpool cup game. It is mainly about the music, but the Dome stage really gave them a lot of scope to wrap the event in video, which was hugely entertaining. Doing their own thing and brilliant at it.
Agree. Only downside was they had no vinyl to sell….I won’t mention the B word.

Beak, Molchat Doma, Floating Points and Justice left for this year.

As for your other bands- I’ll look them up!
They're quite a mixed bag...and Floating Points is a mixed bag himself. Justice are good on record but brilliant live proper DJs as rock stars stuff but tongue firmly in cheek.

For those of you into post rock, a la bands like Slint, on Fri 6 Dec at Komedia are All Structures Align.

Also as they were mentioned earlier, snapped ankles just been to play in Hove next May.

I missed Mutations this year so making it up with some support for our city's great smaller venues
  • Tramhaus at Hope & Ruin last night was a good evening (supported by Ideal Living who keep getting better IMHO)
  • Holy Youth Movement at Dust tonight
  • Dog Unit back at the Hope & Ruin on Saturday
Next week is King Creosote (Tue at Komedia), Sunken (Wed at H&R) and Honeyglaze (Sun at Green Door)

Keep supporting live music!

Thanks so much for posting this. I've wanted to see King Creosote for years, and didn't know about it. The w/e has started off on a fine foot. I'm about to crack open some Fridat wine. Might even have something to smile about come 5pm tomorrow too.

I snoozed on Honeyglaze (didn’t think it would sell out) and missed out. Bit gutted about that.

Watched Fat Dog tonight at Patterns. As usual very silly but fun.

Did any of you go to see Jason Isbell at The Dome on Monday ? He's no Springsteen, but he's quite exceptional. I'm glad I went.
Didn’t see him this time but saw him about 4 years ago (maybe 5). He was great, but, as you say, no Springsteen.

I can highly recommend ‘Star Print Clad’ playing the Hope & Ruin on 13 Dec.
I’ve seen their first two gigs and I think they are something special. Local band and super talented. Genuinely think they could go on to great things.

Recently seen Ben Howard at the Brighton Centre, Bob Dylan at the Royal Albert Hall and Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra. All fantastic!

A friend of mine persuaded me to check out Robert Jon and the Wreck at The Komedia on Thursday night. The Komedia? Bloody hell, this lot are worth bigger venues. Brilliant sound by the way. Superb band. Anyway, as it's the live music thread, here's a live version of one of my fave tracks from the night.
