Can't we just pretend we're not in, and hope the FSB leave the package with France instead and a little card telling us were it is?
Better still leave a note to toss it over the fence at Selhurst Park.

From the Argus - 11:51 am
Sussex Police release a statement:
Police were called to the South Terminal at Gatwick Airport at 8.20am on Friday (22 November) following the discovery of a suspected prohibited item in luggage.
To ensure the safety of the public, staff and other airport users, a security cordon has been put in place whilst the matter is dealt with.

Considering this was discovered at 8.20am, it's taking a bloody long time to sort out the problem! How on earth does it take over 5 hours to deal with something like this? Given the huge disruption this is causing, perhaps there is more to this than the authorities are saying, or else they are just incompetent...

It'll never make the cut for the next storyline of 24

Flask with lid.
I once got stopped at Heathrow early one morning as my breakfast, two pain au chocolat, was seen as suspicious by the scanners

I've hauled my luggage and my sorry ass to Horley and have found a train. Queue a mile long at North Terminal for non existent taxis. Loads of weary travellers, half walking from Horley to Gatwick and half going the other direction. All good fun.

I remember, at the height of the Troubles, we had a bomb scare at St Luke's Church. I think it ended with a controlled explosion of Mrs Puttock's packed lunch. Such were the days.
