After the Ashes, (and India v Pakistan) this is probably cricket's biggest rivalry - these two teams really don't like each other.

India - All out for 150 in their first innings - Aussies 30-3 in reply.

Aussies four down now, either losing wickets or having their meat and two veg rearranged by India’s quicks. Great viewing.

To be fair to India, I actually quite like the test team in their own right, aside from the "all the IPL owners taking over world cricket" thing.

Apart from anything else, they play more tests overseas than Australia do, which does a lot to help keep the test game going.

And for all the moaning about Kohli, there's no reason why the most famous current cricketer in the world should be an interesting and apparently reasonably normal person off the field who regularly talks about the importance of test cricket. Given the state of the world they could very easily be a mad Indian nationalist or (even worse) a weirdo like Steve Smith.

Also, I gather Rohit Sharma once ate 25 fried eggs in one sitting, which is fantastic and exactly the sort of thing I want from the captain of arguably the most keenly supported sporting team in the world.

I am heading down for some of the Ashes. I was thinking of doing just Perth but if it’s another 3 day test that would be a long way to go for 3 days of cricket in a city where we almost never win, so on balance it will be Adelaide and Melbourne for me. Been to the Ashes there a few times and seen about a dozen tests, seen us draw a few times but only ever seen us win one - Adelaide 2010 - so hoping for a similar outcome in 2025!

Yashasvi Jaiswal 161 (297 balls, 15 fours, 3 sixes)
Virat Kohli 100* (143 balls, 8 fours, 2 sixes) :clap2:

India 487-6 declared.

Australia need 534 to win, with a few overs tonight and 6 sessions.

Given the time remaining, I'd have been tempted to add another 70, push the required total over 600...cautious captain, me😊
