Interesting. That sounds like a winter variant. Not sure how I feel about a soup on the side.Had a good one at the Ram Inn, Firle recently with a delicious parsnip soup on the side!

Lovely to see you @Bozza
On mine I also had Pork Pies just to give the full picture. We both chose cheese by the way but there was an option for Cheddar or Blue Cheese or Ham or any combination of those three.

If I was to have a gripe it would be that the bread was not rustic, more a garlic bread (without garlic) type thing. Pork Pie and cheese were both very good quality though.
8.5/10 probably.
Me too. I used to live round the corner from the Southover St branch and used to love the tuna and Chili pizza. Sorry, derailing the ploughperson thread.God, I used to love their coleslaw with pizzas . Even used to pop in buy some on its own when I lived in Hove
It was excellent, so I was happy!Interesting. That sounds like a winter variant. Not sure how I feel about a soup on the side.
Cornichons or gherkins?Surprised to see a ploughman’s on the menu at The Gun, Findon Village today but both @Giraffe and I indulged.
Enjoyed it very much but, looking back at the photos from the Coach and Horses, it probably wasn’t quite as good.
Better pub though - love The Gun.

I remember going to the Gun Inn YEARS ago and having an amazing Ploughman's. I thought it had shut down though? Or was that a different place in FV?Surprised to see a ploughman’s on the menu at The Gun, Findon Village today but both @Giraffe and I indulged.

There are two pubs in the middle of Findon Village and both have been going as long as I can remember - The Gun, which is just a lovely country pub, and The Village House. I've always liked The Gun so much, I've never bothered going into the latter.I remember going to the Gun Inn YEARS ago and having an amazing Ploughman's. I thought it had shut down though? I'm clearly missed an in joke here.Cornichons or gherkins?
Thanks Bozza, yes I was a silent partner at the Black Horse from October 2017 to early 2019, sadly my business partner Mike Shiel died suddenly in November 2018.There are two pubs in the middle of Findon Village and both have been going as long as I can remember - The Gun, which is just a lovely country pub, and The Village House. On the outskirts of the village, on the A24, there is The Black Horse which may have been closed at some point. I know it's changed owners a fair bit, including one sadly passing away. @Lenny Rider will know more detail than me.
Cornichons or gherkins?
Is the village house still run by the son of the bloke that used to run the Warwick back in the day and the last resort. Thanks Bozza, yes I was a silent partner at the Black Horse from October 2017 to early 2019, sadly my business partner Mike Shiel died suddenly in November 2018.
Thankfully the new people are as committed as Mike was and it’s still an excellent establishment, but I’m not sure if they do a Ploughmans
However the Coach and Horses on the A27 do the best one in the Town by a Country Mile
Yeah if you flick back a page of two you'll see the ploughmans Ihad there last year and it was VERY good (and big). Thanks Bozza, yes I was a silent partner at the Black Horse from October 2017 to early 2019, sadly my business partner Mike Shiel died suddenly in November 2018.

ShockingYeah if you flick back a page of two you'll see the ploughmans Ihad there last year and it was VERY good (and big).
We would have returned there today, but they've changed the menu and the ploughman's has gone. Back in the spring/summer, presumably...
Thread 'Why do they do it ?'I'm clearly missed an in joke here.
I'd call them mini gherkins.
Always preferred the Gun. Hope you are keeping well young man. When’s the next minibus for an away game.No they retired and sold up about 18 months ago.
I have not had a ploughmans for donkeys. If this is what they are now serving the farmers are being screwed again I reckon.Surprised to see a ploughman’s on the menu at The Gun, Findon Village today but both @Giraffe and I indulged.
