Most browsers should offer a translation option these days.

I’ve not read the full piece yet but I did catch wind of a full staff bingo night that Hürzeler and his coaching team arranged.

He is the new German wonder trainer! The youngest head coach in Premier League history! At 31 years old, Fabian Hürzeler stirs up the establishment in England with Brighton & Hove Albion, has just beaten Pep Guardiola and champion Manchester City 2:1.

With a club that invested more in transfers than Bayern (231 to 142 million euros) and has a higher market value than Dortmund (571 to 474 million euros).

In the BILD podcast "Phrasenmäher", the former promotion coach of St. Pauli talks about his crazy career - and reveals ...

► Whether a victory against Pep feels different from a victory in Elversberg

Hürzeler: "Of course, a victory against Pep is something special because he revolutionised football with his ideas and achieved something unique. It shows that we can challenge the establishment. But I'm especially proud of my staff and the players.”

► What phone tips he got from Guardiola

Before his move from St. Pauli to Brighton for around 5 million euros, Hürzeler phoned with Pep: "I have a motto and that means: On the shoulders of giants you can continue to look! I asked Pep what the key is to winning games in the Premier League. His answer was: You have to control the opponent's switching behaviour! That's totally true. His second message was: You have to keep developing your game idea. Pep is a master at it.”

Jonas Scheuermann spoke about the bingo stuff when he was on the official Albion podcast back on November 4th.

The article isn't behind a paywall, so I've copied and pasted the auto-translate version......

He is the new German miracle trainer! The youngest head coach in Premier League history! At the age of 31, Fabian Hürzeler stirs up the establishment in England with Brighton & Hove Albion, has just beaten Pep Guardiola and champion Manchester City 2:1.

A media outlet publishes a fine, Albion-related piece.... and people simply steal the content.

Boils my piss!

His second message was: You have to keep developing your game idea. Pep is a master at it.”

► What advice Jürgen Klopp gave him

Hürzeler: "Jürgen is the best coach for me when it comes to creating an identity for a club and all employees. He described to me how consistently he acted and also made tough decisions – that was very enlightening.”

► How a bingo night helped the City victory

Hürzeler: "A few days before the game, thanks to my assistant coach Jonas Scheuermann, we had a bingo night with the staff and the staff - also the kitchen and the cleaners. These evenings are extremely important for me to understand the employees and feel that they are all part of the success.”

► What hair secret he has in common with Klopp

When Hürzeler was introduced at Brighton, many fans noticed his new (denser) hairstyle. He laughs: "In England I am already compared to Jürgen - which we can let be, because he was much more successful and had a unique career. The only comparison that fits is probably that we both had our hair splendour a little embellished...”

Why his father has more Instagram followers than he does

Papa Markus Hürzeler is one of the world's leading dentists for implant treatments. Followers: 42,000 – 3500 more than his son. Fabian: "Many people think I'm the spoiled dentist's son, which is not true at all. My parents have always exemplified that a positive obsession is the basis for success. My father left the house at six in the morning and came home after eight in the evening. If you see this every day, ten years later you don't want to be the one who goes to work at nine and comes back at four.”

Time out? Don't know Hürzeler. During the winter break at St. Pauli, he wanted to hospit with Guardiola on his days off. In the summer he was with Uruguay's national team with coach legend Marcelo Bielsa: "I often hear the phrase: 'You're crazy!' And you can also say that I'm obsessed – but I'm incredibly happy to do it.”

► Why he carries the Bavarian DNA in him

Hürzeler moved to the youth team of FC Bayern at the age of eleven: "At that time I was the worst player in the whole club. I took a lot from personalities like Matthias Sammer or Mehmet Scholl, who was my best coach. This winning gene of the Bavarians is deeply anchored in me.”

► Which motto connects him with Sammer

Sammer coined the sentence: "If I end up in front, people can also call me an asshole!"

Hürzeler: "I'm also someone who's actually heard that before (laughs). But I can stand it and want to be a winner who anticipates his team.”

► Did he know at the promotion party with St. Pauli that he was leaving?

Hürzeler could be carried on his hands through the Millerntor. Did he know about Brighton's interest? "No! The call came only a week and a half after the championship ceremony.”

Hürzeler was insulted as a "mercenary", "hypocrite", "pitic." How much did that affect him? Hürzeler: "I would be lying if I said that it passes you by without a trace because I did everything for the club. But I also understand the disappointment of the fans. I wish that when I return to the Millerntor, I would still be welcomed with open arms.”

Careful - last time I posted a large excerpt from an online open source article it was immediately deleted by a Mod for copyright infringement with a rather curt message.

The link to the original article was shared which would have driven traffic through the Bild site.
If it hadn't been shared would it have been otherwise viewed?

I guess the translation was then done because it was thought some people might be unaware of how to read it.

I'm not saying that copying articles is okay if not shown in it's original form, but I can't see why posting the original link with all the associated advertising doesn't help increase the amount of people going to the Bild site.

(Wozza, If I've mis-read that scenario, be nice in the way you slaughter me please)

I tried that argument too and also share the link as well as credited the journalist but apparently if you copy more than a small excerpt onto NSC, you get into trouble and the Mods will delete it. I didn’t even post the whole translated article (which was also about Hürzeler) but it was still against NSC policy apparently.

The person that posted it may be lucky, perhaps the Mod who deleted my post won’t see the Bild article reposted above (or perhaps he is mates with the Mods 😁.)

Why is anyone going to click on an external link if the ENTIRE article has been pasted here?!

It's depriving the publisher of page views and revenue. A small amount, sure, but it's about respect imo.

(Also, online journalists are increasingly 'judged' on metrics.)

Sorry - I was being Dad Taxi.

I always remove full copy and pastes where I see them here, for two reasons...

1. Firstly, and mainly, in respect of the publication that has put the work in - they deserve the traffic and eyeballs.
2. Many publications are litigious and have far bigger legal budgets than I do.

But a lot of people aren't aware of these factors until it is mentioned to them,

We’d been receiving a load of favourable coverage in German broadcast media even before Fabi came along.

I’ve only listened to the start of it but the chat/podcast he does with the reporter is interesting too: he worked as an art dealer in Munich before being let go because he spent too much time watching football, plus he’s an adrenaline junkie who goes canoeing/jumping over waterfalls and such like.

Entirely needless to say, he comes across as an intelligent, articulate and highly likeable chap, even more so in his native tongue. Classy guy.

In Germany midweek training sessions have the media present so any stuff that goes on gets reported in the tabloids, none of that here.

The bingo night at the club was fun and important because it involved all staff members and he gets to know more about them and their families but it also helps them to realise they’re all important parts of the team.

Man I LOVE this guy. Now, click on the links before Wozza beats me up.
